"I'm Puerto Rican, so I don't have exact measurments" - I've asked for recipes from so many friends and family and this has always been my experience. Shout out to Mami and Wela! Thanks for the video.

That’s not exclusive to Puerto Ricans. Most people who have cooked anything more than three times don’t have exact measurements.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Two weeks ago, my “Cooking Hotline” passed away and seeing you talk to your mom brought back so many wonderful memories of me calling my mom for cooking advice. I’m in tears but I feel so blessed to have had a mother like I did. Thank you again.

If there are no Latin restaurants in your area, look for Asian or African supermarkets for the green bananas and yautia. You can get the rest of the stuff (sazon, adobo) online. Even the sofrito-Loiza has a great shelf-stable sofrito you can order online. Happy cooking!

What food processor do you use? I tried making alcapurrias once before by grating the yautia and it didn't come out well. I think for a second attempt I'll get a food processor to make sure the masa is the right consistency.

If you’re going to use a box grater, use a box one in the smallest setting. Hope this helps! Éxito
