  • Often I get asked, what's the best age to start my child in karate. The truth is, it all depends on your child!
Why do we do what we do?
Because everyone has the right to be successful and we believe that can only happen when people feel safe, healthy, and confident.
How do we help people achieve that?
By helping them set and achieve goals, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and teaching them the skills that they can use to defend themselves.
What do we do to teach them those things?
    We teach martial arts.

Its simple. When the child has litterly mastered their bicycle or skateboard or similar. (No more falls). Approximately age 11-12. Anything younger is babysitting and building a false sense of confidence which could get them seriously harmed! Stay away from taekwondo because they are experts at building a false sense of security. Look for a good Okinawan or Chinese martial arts school.
I know. I been in the martial arts for over 50 years.

I'm 40 and seriously thinking about starting. Too bad your school is too far away for me and my sons.

I have no doubt that there is a great school near you. Let us know what town/city you live in and we can help.

5 is a great age. It's a great time to help them start building balance, coordination and confidence.
