People actually calling them overrated and a 'tiktok band' is insane to me... as they've been my favourite band for three years and are only JUST now blowing up online through their continued hard work and development of their music. It's not like they just appeared out of nowhere with a hit viral song. People are welcome to dislike their music, whatever, but that is such an odd thing to say about them in my perspective as someone who's followed them as a niche and experimental band for years. I'm so happy for their success, they deserve it, it's just a shame that it always brings criticism because people get embarrassed when music is popular because they think they're too cool to like it, and other people just attack anything that isn't their preference rather than spending that time promoting what they DO like.
They ARE blowing up because of tik tok. I’ve known about them for years too and they weren’t popular until the last month or so…because of tik tok. That’s just how bands blow up these days.

Vessel is clearly a classically trained musician which doesn’t inherently mean it’s good, but the uncompromising vision he’s had since day one does. They clearly have a sound and a flavor to them, but they know how to give you that flavor in a variety of different ways and that is VERY hard to do ESPECIALLY in the genre we're talking about. The musicianship from them is amazing, I’ve always loved musicians that don’t allow themselves to be boxed into 1 style or genre, it’s way more beneficial in the long run. Metallica, Slipknot to a lesser degree, Lamb of God are just to name a few groups that can’t escape their old sound and are just in a loop now. Overrated is reserved for groups that start with one sound and then alter it for the mainstream, ST established early on that they can do whatever they want. You want a crazy heavy heavy song? They got it. You want a sexy Elton John-esque 70’s-80’s ballad? They got it. Music is one thing that shouldn’t have limits, every genre brings something to the table.
They definitely not overrated and I can admit that I hopped on the band wagon with Chokehold. As a side note, Keem you gotta check the new To The Grave. It's their best of the singles so far!

they aren't, their numbers are just now taking off and haven't done a full tour in the US still, also each member is a nobody. they just have talent and work with great producers

I bought their EP back in 2017 and watched them chug along even without the recognition. You can tell they’re just doing their own thing, and people are free to join them for the ride if they want to. The Spiritbox comparison is good though. Both have elements that will appeal to more casual listeners/non-musicians.
