    Wow, this was a really in-depth review/comparison. The battery life and satellite GPS options are incredible. I'm also impressed with the HR monitor, I doubt I would ever get ride of my strap, but it's cool to see how accurate it was. Great job Steven. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    Great review, Steven! My Garmin has been an excellent starter watch but I really like what I’m seeing with Coros.

    nice in-depth review. Coros just issued a recall on the 46 mm apex, so I just ordered the new apex 2 for 50 eur with the refund money. not bad.

      Nice! I had a recall on my Apex 46mm probably two years ago. I bough the Apex Pro. You will love the Apex 2!

    Just ordered mine and should be with me in the coming days. Coming from an older Suunto Spartan Ultra, i'm really excited for the new 'everyday' wearability of the apex 2. Thanks for the review Steven, was a big deciding factor in me going with Coros

    Hey Steven. I want to buy a watch but im between two of them and i want your opinion. The first is Garmin forerunner 255 music and the second one is coros apex 2 which one of this you think its the best to buy ?

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +2

      Well I prefer the COROS ecosystem and user interface so I would chose the APEX 2.

    Hi Steven, wondering if the pace 2 is worth considering for trail running? Thank you!

    Hello Steven I have a question. I want to buy a watch for running and I'm between two of them one is coros apex 2 pro and the vertix 2 so which one is better in your opinion

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +1

      Well the APEX 2 Pro and VERTIX 2 are very similar. Only a few minor differences geared toward mountaineering and a bit longer battery life. Personally, I like the APEX 2 Pro better as it fits better and is more comfortable and still has a ton of features.

    Steven, how's the screen brightness without the backlight on? I'm 50 and I'm starting to need reading glasses. With the 46 i have to keep the backlight on if I want to be able to read because at the base the screen is a little dim.

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +1

      Its pretty good. I mean obviously the backlight helps alot, but if you have a watch face with white as the background, its pretty easy to see. There is also Night Mode, which leaves the display on very dimly, but that does help too.

    With the release of the Apex 2 series, Coros is basically killing off the Apex lineup and replacing it with a successor to the Apex Pro, while giving the Apex Pro lineup two watch sizes, 42mm and 46mm.

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +2

      The APEX 2 is basically the APEX Pro, but even better

    Looks pretty good.
    I just hope they don't suffer from the high 'system use' battery drain that many units of the other watches seem to be, which coros is trying hard to pretend isn't a thing.

    Thanks for great review! I would be careful with statement about sapphire glass is not possible to scratch, especially when this smaller version is mainly meant for women (no offense to ladies, you are sometimes just too talented :D ). Apex 42 had also sapphire glass and it took exactly 1 week for my wife to get it scratched badly - 1 fall during trail running was enough. It wasn't hit against the rock or something, she just tripped on the pretty smooth trail and fell with her arm underneath her body.. I was quite surprised to see the screen scratched. Anyway one question.. I saw some complaints on the official Coros group saying vibrations on new Apex 2 watches are pretty weak and barely noticable. Can you compare new Apex 2 and 2 Pro to older Apex Pro in this aspect ? Did you also have the feeling vibrations are weak ? I have original Vertix 1 and thinking about getting Apex 2 Pro and vibrations are pretty improtant to me as I use vibration-only alarm on my watch every morning. Thanks!

    • @UltraTrailSteven
      @UltraTrailSteven  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Well I think I said “virtually impossible” but good point. I disagree it is mainly meant for women. Plenty of men wear the smaller sized watches too.
      Hmm. The vibrations seem fine to me. However, I should note I have been having issues with getting notifications on the watch from my iPhone.

    Hi just discovered your channel. Good luck with your training. I've put a fell running comedy on RUclips if you would care to check it out. In Jam Butty Boy, Episode 6. "You'll frighten the sheep in those," there is a routine on GPS watches about 39.15. Might give you a giggle. Best wishes.
