I'm sure you've noticed it by now, but in the fps section starting at 5:52 you've got the wrong labels on the consoles.

Thanks, yes - that is the only thing I’m still doing manually. Really need to change this part in the flow to dummy proof it for myself.

    - Note that the drops shown are most likely related to the "freeze" effect of the game at times, we've seen the same behaviour of trdrop on PS5 version running at 60FPS
    - Series X seems to upscale up to 2160P, most likely from 1440P, at the same count One X did look sharper
    - No additional graphics treatment for Series X|S other than frame rate
    - One X is most probably also dynamic but the counts I did came back at 30/30, including during some battles
    - One S does show low pixelated resolution when more things are happening on screen
    - All versions do run stable at there respective frame rates
    - Loading times are pretty much non-existing on current-gen and short on last-gen

For me it seems, that your FPS analysis graph, frametime graph and fps counter on top are not synced correctly with the video. One would assume that the vertical line in the middle of the FPS analysis graph is synced to the video, but when the counter on top shows a framedrop like to 45fps, the video is actually not dropping frames. See 2:35 for example. The SX isnt dropping frames where the counter says so, but actually it dropped frames like 3 seconds earlier, when the drops appeared on the fps analysis graph on the most right point, while the counter on top was saying 60fps (since it is synced to the vertical line on the fps analysis graph). You know what i mean? I skipped frames manually one by one to verify that. I think you got that error for some time in your videos and I wanted to inform you about it, so you might look into that. Other than that, good job and i love your power consumption analysis. Really helps to see how far the consoles are pushed and shows if they are optimised badly. Have a good day.

Hee yes - fully understand what you mean, this can be confusing at first but it is as intended. The framerate graphs is centred, so the FPS counter is aligned with the center of the graph. Frametime doesn't get centred, this has been a long standing request on github for trdrop. So the way to look at it = counter + center framerate graph + left frametime graph. The counter is indeed 3 seconds behind on wat is actually happening on screen, there is a total of 360 frames on the graph (right to left). Hope this make sense and appreciate you taking the time!

@@ajgamingcomparisons Of coursee i understand, but imo it should be like all the other analysts do, because this right now is counterintuitive. The counter should show fps drops exactly when they happen in the video. You say yourself it is confusing, so i dont understand why it is also intended at the same time. I bet almost noone knows this when they watch your video, and they would think that certain scenes drop fps, while in fact they dont and the other way round. Your brain would always have to remember what just happened to relate it to the framedrops of the counter three seconds later.
Is it a technical problem you cant overcome at the moment? I dont know the workflow, but cant you sync the fps graph and counter to the video in your video editor, like shifting it the 180 frames so it is aligned? Thanks for answering!

What you see is just the "center graph" option within trdrop. I've been using this option a very long time, all the other channels I know of, including analistadebits, are using this same option to center the graph. There is no technical problem, it is just how trdrop outputs it with this option enabled. The workflow is just process the recording and add to my video, the graph you see is just trdrop output with a effect to make it look like that.

@@ajgamingcomparisons The only problem i see is that the video is not synced to the center graph like analistadebits, DF, VG Tech and some others have. So i dont know how they synced it compared to you. I explained it in the last post. Maybe it is involving more video editing and aligning the video and the graph by shifting 180 frames, i dont really know, but i hope you understand and can change it, when it's not too much effort. Otherwise it doesnt make much sense for the viewer to be honest. Have a nice day!

How do you determine if it's upscaling from a base resolution of say 1440P to 4K? I take a screenshot and paste it onto paint then start counting pixels horizontally and vertically,it always gives me 4K you know.

    • @ajgamingcomparisons
      @ajgamingcomparisons  Год назад +2

The difficult part is finding were it drops in resolution. Lossless recordings give you way more flexibility with up to potentially 60 usable “screenshots” per second. During heavy scenes it simply counts lower, in this case 1440P. Because the 30/30 count looks a bit soft, specifically compared to One X, it would seem some form of upscaling/reconstruction is used. Hope this make sense. You should check out DF and VG, they are more experienced than I am. Take care.

In your summary they are all 30 fps

Though the game looks good most of the time, I'm still disappointed with the results. I'm surprised they couldn't get a remaster of a PSP game to run at 60 fps on every platform, and at a consistent 4K on current gen.

No offense, but this dude is using the worst areas of the game to show off textures, resolutions, frame rates, particle effects, lighting, etc.
You have the first training mission 1-1-1 to easily show real-time particle effects by hitting the Shinra troops with sword, fire, etc.

Non-taken. Comparing like this is not always straight forward, I do need still images. On the other note, I do have time constraints most of the times as I work full time (this is just an hobby). It is not like other channels that receive the keys for free and in advance so they can work on the content unfortunately. Nevertheless thanks for the candid feedback, take care.
