Great tutorial, Cecile. May I ask what brand of watercolor you use? It’s very bright, unless you put lots of pigments and I don’t. Perhaps I am using a student grade and you are using the artist grade. Any brand you might want to recommend? Thank you.
But, adding white to your watercolour pigments can make some of them look muddy. If you want a lighter value you only need to add more water, not white paint. You can make them as pale as you' like and because the pigments are transparent you should still have the bright white of the paper showing through the transparency of the colours. That is the beauty of watercolour.

It' a beautiful painting and so realistic. What kind of color pencil do you recommend, oil or waxed? What brand do you use? I'm new to coloring.

You need to mix your paint with less water, more paint to get a more vivid color.
