I feel that’s one of the best things about snooker, the sportsmanship. Even down the club playing against a mate nearly all Players would call the foul on themselves. Walden v Murphy was good.
That last one with Williams and he dry, Stephen Hendry is and will go down in history as a one of a kind and possibly the best player of the last 100 years.
Don't really watch snooker but can any advantage be gained from calling a foul on yourself... sometimes it looks as though they wait to see the outcome of the shot before they call a foul on themselves.
No, your opponent has the option of either taking his shot or making you play again. Also, the other player can just foul right back and then you'd be in the same position. However, if there is a stalemate position where both players would rather foul than attempt a legitimate shot, then the frame is started again - this is so rare, I'd doubt you'd find more than a handful of videos on youtube where it occurs; I've never seen it happen in several years of playing league.
It’s difficult to go on with it in your head when you make a slight foul and know it you have to own up I couldn’t except winning if I didn’t own up if it wasent seen. Do you agree people. Peace
Why did Jan verhaas move the red to try and get the pink as close to its spot as possible and then move it back? If no other spot was available it should be as close to its own spot which it was.. He should've put it as close as possible without touching the red
rodluvan1976 a push is when the cue ball is in contact with the object ball and the cue tip at the same time. That's the reason players hit the cue ball downwards when it's really close to the object ball
ok 1 I can't stand snooker but fair play to the players I have to respect the sportsmanship on display you wouldn't get that in the sport of football that I love 2 I think Marco Fu is very cute
Just because you could have gotten away with it, doesn't make it less/more of a cheat. If you know you fouled - then not owning up to it is literally cheating. It's the dictionary definition of cheating!
Actually I believe within the rules of most tournament games you aren't obligated to call your own fouls. Even if this wasn't the case its still good sportsmanship relative to other sports where there is far more of what you would describe as cheating.
splashparis You say not admitting to it would be cheating, but if you've got a job and have an interview, if your employer finds out......yeah, honesty is amazing in theory but greedy, dishonest bastards will always make any sense of logic seem foolish for their own gain. I saw something on television the other day, somebody who was meant to be in a position of some importance (can't remember who) but she said something along the lines of. I pride myself on my honesty, but I'm not going to be forthcoming with any information that may be of detriment to myself. After hearing this i laughed, what a morally retarded individual.
After watching this again for the umpteenth time i have concluded that Alan Chamberlain was a knob. And i would have hated to have him as my father. He did a number of dickish moves in snooker. Where common sense went out the window. Not a patch on any of the other referees anyway. Verhass, Collier, Tabb, Eckardt, Scullion, Chamberlain, Anatasziya etc. All far better than him.
I saw one on here recently, he fouls the red but then just plays anyway, was going to link you it but I've got too many snooker videos in my history to be sure which one, sorry!
lol, obviously the ref didn't notice it or he'd have called foul! I don't remember the commentators saying anything, he just moved a red with the cue he was over, it wasn't an important shot though so the commentators were talking about something else
Fleecemaster Haha yeah you're right about the ref. So no one except you noticed it. How do you know that O'Sullivan noticed it? Did he react as if he noticed it?
These new zoomer players do this on purpose on a shot that isnt important. Zoomers need to be thought of highly and when they dont get enough attention its time for a tv moment to show all the viewers just how fair they are. Its fake. Its theatre for them. You wont see it happen on a crucial shot thats for sure. As long as the zoomer has people talking good about them they can feel useful.
"Second favorite". This is pure cringe. . "There's two people competing in today's match, and one of them is the second favorite, who will be the first loser." . "You can't call them _loser_. They're "victory impaired"... but they still get a trophy, because everyone does."
Young Frankenstein it's gambling lingo you bellend. It means he was favourite to win, now he's not. How would you word it? They don't call him second favourite to avoid hurting his feelings you fucking donut
The sportsmanship in Snooker is unrivalled
Expect betting on matches.

I love snooker..
Good for you 👍🏻
sooker just love it
I like Stephen Hendry, because he is a talented Snooker player and decent in the same time.
Oh amazing, HOnesty at his best...........
00.53...Michaela Tabb....soooo cute!
HOT, not cute!
That Asian referee in the beginning, too...
Michael Holt... LOOOOOOOOOL.... good lad, but that was funny!!!!
Mark Allen admitting that it didn't go before is good sportsmanship others would of kept there mouth shut
Cant believe the nerve if the guy who asked for an autograph mid frame
Yea cheek 🙄
Luca looks so young and Allen too
it makes a difference, if it does not go back the 3 foul rule starts again!
Why wouldnt you sign it Mr Virgo.........The crowd are there for you
Middle of the game at 3-0 down. Its a bit cheeky from the fella
Hendry is a legend, laughing at the ref as if to say c'mon now don't be silly, he'd have been as well playing football with a rugby ball ffs
What's a Push? (Maguire)
where the cue ball is in contact with the object ball and the cue at the same time.
oh, it rebounded onto the cue?
rodluvan1976 yup
Did Stuart really foul the blue? It didn't look like it
i didn't see it either...
he barely grazed it with his waistcoat, as he was cuing. Maybe moved it a millimetre, but it was still a foul. Very honest of him
Calling fouls that no one has seen is a major part of the ongoing corruption in snooker.
What's the problem at 1:03 ?
When your cue is still in contact with the cue ball while hitting the object ball is a push. Which is a foul.
Ok thanks, I did know about this kind of fault but I didn't see it clearly in this shot. It was very honest of Stephen calling the fault then.
You can feel it in the cue. It also makes a funny tinny sort of noise, which is the cue striking the cue ball twice
There's no way the referee could have noticed that one though.
flobbingdonkey the cue does not strike anything twice with a push shot.
and then there is John Higgings
Should we just ignore that 70 out intro

Admitting to a foul is not "good sportsmanship" - it's simply acknowledging a foul. Not admitting to it would be cheating.
