If you did with an actual volley ball and a normal height net and normal rules it could be good practice, it could improve reaction times and your listening
We did something similar in our practice once where we covered the net with towels. Actually worked pretty well
We did this in pe class but we don’t in volleyball practice
As a middle blocker, I got to say I'm impressed with how well Bryan plays the net. Dang boy.

Did this in practice last year with a tarp over the net. Except its only my coach serving and one passer on the court. It was fun and difficult because you had to cover the entire court while trying to react to the moment the ball is visible.
But wouldn’t the volleyball go higher than the net so shouldn’t it be easily visible

I went on a Team Edge Marathon and watched all 119 vids of season 2. I noticed that:

Kris J Rentas Nothing was wrong with them it's just that, with volleyball rules you can't volley the ball after it has been served, you have to bump it.

You can't spike or block a serve the whole point in volleyball is to volley the ball. Once you serve the ball the other team has to put it back on your side using any other move than a spike or a block, after returning the ball to the other side it's fine to spike or block. Sorry if this might have came off as rude

Can you guys do it like this but instead of playing volleyball you play battleship. You lay on the ground and you throw it over and you have to try to hit them if you do then they are out unless you want to do multiple hit and then they are out. The last team or team member standing wins.

In volleyball we will actually do this to be able to learn where the ball is going solely by the opponents hand. Except they just drape a cloth over the net!
