I saw Carrie on this tour live in Green Bay. The reason, I remembered it so well is because first time seeing a concert live and giving my friend a birthday present she won't forget and shocking her in the process. Also, seeing how hard it would be to meet Carrie face to face. They had so much security in Resch Center that night. The floor level going anywhere near the back of the arena was security everywhere. My group had 5 of us. We were in the upper part of the bowl in the middle. We had a close up view of Carrie as she was on a platform that was suspended by wires Carrie was 30 feet from us.
As Carrie realized on her Cry Pretty tour. The two pieces of her band that have stay in one spot are drums and keyboard. Everyone else can be mobile. Yes, for one number, "Poor Everybody Else", Carrie played that extra drum set, but that was on a small platform, where it could be brought for that song and dropped right back down after.
Main comment I heard as me and my friends were leaving Resch Center was for a small person, Carrie is only 5'3" but you wouldn't know by her concert performances. But that is what got Carrie noticed at her St. Louis audition.
Carrie was surprised when she found out this song landed in rock and roll in the Billboard music charts. Someone from Billboard went to her concert and saw perform this song. It crossed over. As Carrie said if a song cross over it does it n its own. I think it is her sister's influence coming through. Carrie was exposed to a lot of rock songs when she was young.
Carrie honoring Stephen King and getting his blessing to boot. Yes, Carrie was directly involving King's novel "Christie" That is why two black Cadillacs.
Carrie even laughs about her height, as she put it, a grandma came up from behind her and slap her butt and she said for a small person, you packed quite a punch with your vocals. Carrie admitted she was confused when she looked at the lady. Carrie realized she was being complimented.
