Snagged an EC B523 at Evan Williams last weekend. Was very happy. Old Forester had nothing special, but they were bottling a SiB BS pick when we were on the tour. It was like a knife in the heart. Cheers guys.
This is great! I've wanted to visit Kentucky for years but haven't made it happen yet... Looks like a spring trip next year is in my future though, so I'll be saving this video for reference.
Good Evening/Morning/Afternoon. Wifey and I will be in Kentucky early November. I need some help yall. We only have a couple days and primarily I am looking for three things 1. Best bourbon tour EXPERIENCE 2. Which distilleries require us to Take a tour to take a bottle home (I am referring to a bottle that I couldn’t get outside of the distillery) 3. With just a few days in Kentucky, which distilleries should limit to gift shop visits for potential bottles to take home, and which ones should we pay money to tour for experience/ possible bottle take homes? I hope that was not complicated, but I am feeling pressure because the tour book up fast. However I hear the grounds of Castle and Key, Woodford, and Makers mark are just fantastic. So I just have a fear of overbooking a bunch of tours I never needed to. Thanks guys
Love the BT drops. They post online about an hour or so before they open. I showed up 20 mins after they opened on an EH Taylor day. Waited in line for an hour and once I got inside they still had a ton of it left
Yes, you can go back to back days. The 90 day wait is for each of the allocated ones. So, buy a Blantons and can't get another Blantons for 90 days. You can still get one of the others.
Old forester didn’t have anything at the distillery more then the normal but you could get in their bar real easy and do a flight with the allocated bottles
Thank you for this! Coming into KY for 8 hours from cinci this Thursday. Looking for a tour and potential bottle drop but would be happy with a tour as I’ve never been to KY. Would You recommend Louisville or Lawrenceberg? Or another one I’m missing? Thank you!
Micthers has nothing special on their shelves but what you can get normally and if you want to go to their bar you have to make a reservation early. Also if you want a tour go ahead and plan 3 or more months in advance
Planning a trip to Louisville/Bardstown the end of September first of October. Any tips on finding hard to get bottles that time of year? Is the end of the month or first of the month better as far as distilleries putting out better selections? Also, any tips on scoring an E.H. Taylor barrel proof? Enjoy the shows!
I hit Lousville this Saturday about 1 hour after everything opened and found squat. I dont know if I was too late or if they did t do any drops for Labor Day weekend but I was very disappointed.
i did the FYO at Michters a couple months back. Got the BS bourbon. Any chance you can lmk how u heard the barrels they use are honey barrels vs. standard BS bourbon barrels? I've yet to crack mine but will be at some point soon. And I hope to get a BS bourbon to compare it to!

This was awesome wished I saw this before I visited back in April!
The intel is always appreciated knowing nothing is guaranteed. Like we always joke around saying that it’s bourbon “hunting” not bourbon “getting”.
That is 1000% true.
Brought the wife to Heaven Hills Friday, and got two bottles of Old Fitz 19. There were 20 bottles dropped, we got 18-19
Just got home from there. Great trip. Easy as could be. We stayed in Bardstown and I killed it.
Great info! Thanks fellas! 🍻
You guys were very helpful to me while I spent time hitting up the distilleries. Thank you
Thank you guys! Taking a trip in a few weeks and can’t wait to check some of these out.
If you do the best bartender experience at Evan Williams you can buy the EW 12 year which is the Japan only release

Can you go to buffalo trace two days in a row and get the pick of the day? Or is it just once every three mouths?

If you had time for both I would do that.

Dang, 4R barrel strength 3x/week? I'm lucky to find one a year lol.

Do you get the bourbon at Msrp if you’re at a drop for the OF birthday bourbon for instance. Or is it similar to secondary pricing?
From distilleries it is at msrp. From certain stores it may be marked up a bit. All these things we are talking about are from distilleries
Someone said to get the Evan Williams 12 you have to take the tour. Is this true?
