Another great show. All of them are great. Andi is great. Dee was great. Great guests throughout the last 50 days. Marcus, along with Will stand out as exceptionally insightful and articulate commentators. Can’t get enough of them.
Andi and VG exclusive specialists as guests, appropriate VG clips from skippers’ videos (English transcription) with weather & tracker news. Applause for planning and script. Thank the editors! Much appreciated production. Although enjoy other groups following sail events such as SailWorld wrap ups, VG’s official English report is our favorite. We struggle with our HS French, need those close caption & translated versions of official VG French reports. Overall, “Vamos”!
Great show Andi - I've been meaning to ask you for ages though...why do none of the skippers seem to wear gloves? As the conditions are really cold how do they handle metal parts and the sheets with frozen hands ? My husband and I were in the crowd shown welcoming Pip into Melbourne - what a star! Myrtle
You get used to bare hands surprisingly quickly - and some very interesting changes happen to your hands (I'll see if I can find the research done on North Sea fishermen)....but a key reason is that gloves stink way worse than smelly socks if they've been worn and are wet for a while! I know!! Having said that they'll have gloves and mitts when hunkered down below
For tomorrow - I would be very interested to hear what Antoine Lauriot Prévost has to say on the subject of masts - obviously Pip lost a mast, and after Sam G lost a mast he hinted that the failure modes were not fully understood. Don't know if there is truth in that but any insights on the current masts and future plans would be good. Also we've seen huge performance improvements over the last 3-4 generations bit it feels like that opportunities to improve further are getting smaller, I'm not much interested on stabilisers on the rudders (unless that's closer than I thought) but any thoughts on further areas for potential gains would be great.

Andi is there any chance of getting Alex Thompson on the platform? He has so much to offer with his experience of the VG. Nigel
Yes definitely Alex!
Thanks Andi. Always good to see Marcus and hear his insights. I hope Yannick can repair his steering and continue somehow.

....and maybe something about problematic hooks and why the OD mail hook seems to be an issue
What happens to the human waste on board the boats?
Sorry, I've just always wondered.
I think it gets fed to the penguins; indirectly of course!
There are a lot of videos about, Interviews, etc.
