I had the same.. then I just played in windows mode in my virtual desktop app.. then when I made like some laps like that I tried switch to vr and then it worked.. no ide why!
For me the game is totally unplayable in Quest 3 VR. Not because of bad FPS but because it won't start at all. I click "Play" then choose "Open XR". And nothing happens, the screen turns black, and after a few minutes it goes back to desktop without a single error message. Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080Super, 32GiB RAM, PCI-e 4.0 SSD NVME. It should work well but it doesn't even start.
Something is missing on this video.... 99.9% of people with a 4090 do not have a smooth experience. Far from smooth, they report a terrible performance. Some have even reported 3 FPS already in the menu. In this video we do not see FPS, no overlay at all. Make me wonder if this guy really played it in VR. Why do we see a SBS screen??? is it a 3D play instead of VR??
4090 is not enough of a gpu to compete these days unfortunately. You’ll need one of the 5090’s that will run over $3,000.00 usd after markups to run it well. The more gpu’s you buy the more you save.
Games with more modern game engines are poorly optimized and the lazy ass developers keep being given a pass because the the tech nerds constantly upgrading to $5000++ pc’s just to play at higher resolution settings settings. Do not support this play older games that run like silk and the developers/publishers will eventually get the message. 🧐
Completely broken VR for me. Used Q3 wired and VD... A load of artefacts. Looks when Spiderman was getting snapped by thanos.. wired is smooth.. VD unplayable.. tried extra low settings.. 3080ti with Ryzen 7950x
Same here. Tried with every runtime, but runs with 40-50 fps on Potato resolution lowest settings on my 3080 Ti. And a lot of people are complaining about the same, so it will be probably fixed if it somehow can work smooth like in the video.
@@drmikehuntphd7905 Yep, completely sure of it, played every racing sim and all of them looked insanely good. It feels more like some effect is broken in VR, like depth of field or something.
@@drmikehuntphd7905 nah. I have many other titles example MSFS series.. look spectacular with right settings.. and more demanding.. as previous comment said. They will need a fix. I tried Alot of different settings also

I have a wheel, shifter and pedals on a folding stand that I use when I really want to get immersed in some racing, but when I just want to pop in for a quick lap around the ring I usually just grab an Xbox controller. Not nearly as good as a wheel and pedals but KILOMETERS better than trying to "steer" using keys on a keyboard (calling that "steering" is a bit of a stretch...) Accelerating and braking are both inherently analog functions too, but let's not even go there. Also, what's the point of trying to get decent VR wirelessly for a racing sim? You're sitting in one place. Just plug in the wire! It really isn't such a hardship.
Thats odd I use a pico neo 3 link with a 7900 xt 12700k and no matter the setting i always get around 20ms and close to 20g vram frame time so its unplayable. Maybe it needs an update im not sure, I realize this isnt a 4090 but i play most sims at high settings, sure feels like its a bug or lack of compatibility of some kind
Game getting roasted on Steam reviews. Poor VR performance and putting a lot of content behind online requirements. There's no need for these always online games. Instant no buy from me unless they change that.
Even on the low preset I'm 45fps with -40% headroom. Quest3, 4080 Super, 7800x3d, 64gig ram. I'm happy Kunos supports VR from the start, hopefully we'll get some performance updates soon! Voodoo's video looked much smoother and was on ultra with a 4090...
@@atom711 Yeah, I don't think the settings matter. I have the OpenXR toolkit and I noticed it doesn't report GPU latency/render, only CPU. Guess there are some bugs to iron out

Glad to see someone got it working in VR. 100% unplayable for me in VR.
it results two screens (one per eye but only in left lens)
Dude you're insane. I was not expecting someone to cover VR for this so fast.
😬😬
Can you make a video on how you set this up? I have Quest 3 and my game is totally broken

Update your gpu drivers the most problems come from outdated drivers

You’ll need to invest in a $700 cpu upgrade and maybe the $2000 5090 to run it well 😂. Modern game engines are doomed.
How i can start this in steam VR mode? I have only Open XR option a this not work with valve index.
To get rid of the pixelated jitter in the main menu garage : Switch Scene to something outdoors, like the arctic one.. worked fine!

wonder what it will run like on a RTX 4070 with quest 3
Didn't work for me at all on a 4070 super. Even on lowest settings. I think something wrong with the openxr, i would prefer oculus vr launch mode.
Same with my 470 super was unplayable 45 fps and -100 headroom.

4fps in the menu. I dont how he gets 120fps even on a q3
Hi.. what are settings vr? Quest 3
Can you navigate the UI when in VR? I find if frustrating when you have to remove the headset when you need to change something in the menus.
When you launch in steam vr it will ask you to run in openxr mode thats how you get vr working.

If you're going to do VR racing games you'll need some 6 degrees of freedom racing rigs to test how well that works too ;)
