When I was a young little idiot, I fell for a much simpler version of this on Roblox. No discord involved, I just typed my password in a game. The scam dude logged into my account and bought a tee shirt thing with my last 40 Robux. I got my account back and reported the tee shirt as fraudulently purchased to Roblox, they sent me some generic "we have received your report but can't update you on the status of your report and can not remove the shirt or refund your Robux". 3 days later my account was banned for a week because the tee shirt said "shit". Definitely taught me not to be a silly little idiot, that's for sure...

It's crazy how advanced these scams got. In 2012, a guy told me to buy this shirt for admin in his "popular" game. I believe the game had 800k visits at the time, so he said he is selling admin for his super active game in 250 robux. I bought it, obviously got scammed. He's banned and all but that was just 250 robux. it's crazy that scammers just want to steal your account now.
I was a victim to this group, I got my account back before they could do anything (i'm not THAT dumb) but in my case, i'm a roblox developer, and they were asking to "buy one of my roblox games" which led to me verifying in the server since they ask to talk in the server with them. Pretty sure everyone that is actually verified in there are bots.
After not playing for a very long time, I logged in and saw this guy asking to buy my games which had 300K+ visits. I joined their server, was a bit interested since I don't play Roblox anymore but thanks to you; I know how that verification scam works and didn't verify. Reported to Discord and left the server.

The funniest part is you don't even own the copyright to your Roblox avatar Roblox does, so the devs wouldn't even need to ask for your permission or even tweak it at all to add it to their game...

fun fact: the real reason discord is abbreviated is because Roblox has a chat filtering system, and basically if u try to type ANY other brand like RUclips, Discord, Twitter or anything (except Guilded) it will tag the whole message

I find it astounding that Roblox filters the word Discord, but is working with Discord for an event and actively gives it the AOK for game devs that time and time again have been outed for exploiting children

for the scammer saying “we don’t want to get copyrighted for using your outfit.” Its not possible, you cant copyright claim somebody for using a roblox avatar, its impossible. its something different if it has your face, name, or any other private details. for a copyright claim, you need to file copyright on something legally. like in court, they will find it silly and not let you copyright an outfit on a video game. you can sue if they use a shirt with any of your personal unique information. like, face, email, ssn, credit card info, address, etc. if its your name like “John” you cant do it because names are reused. but if its a full name, you might be able to. just depends on what the court rules fair use, and not fair use
Even if personal info is bypassed and your wearing the item it's still your fault for uploading a decal or shirt with your name or something that Roblox doesn't even allow

Oh, yeah. I remember looking up those stupid videos on how to get free robux when i was younger. I actually ended up falling for the scam by typing in my user and password on a website, but somehow, I didn't get hacked, LOL. Thankfully, I've changed my user and password since then.
The reason why they take messages from the Sol’s RNG Discord, is because of the games immense popularity on Roblox. Another reason, is that people that aren’t very bright fall for these scams, and the people that fall for them, most likely play Sol’s RNG.

One way to avoid this, is the general knowledge that Bloxlink is the main verification tool used to verify your account from Roblox to Discord, so if a server doesn't use Bloxlink, that's an instant red flag.

This whole scam can just be avoided if you use 2% of your brain and realize Roblox owns the rights to all avatar items, accessories, pretty much anything under their umbrella, which means you cannot by extension DMCA them over "your" avatar you do not actively own the rights too, sure you can use it and Roblox allows you to use said customization of course, but at the end of the day, you do not own those items, the people who made them via UGC? They made it sure, but once again, Roblox owns the full legal rights to said assets, so the scam template outright stating they can get "DMCA copyrighted" from you specifically is genuinely hilarious to me

this is insane. i took down a similar scam about a month ago. it was like a downgraded version of this. they got their victims into their server with a message offering Robux, limiteds, or real money to use the victims avatar as an npc in their game. in their discord server, the bots just sent the same messages on loop. it had the same rolinked thing, but instead of stealing your account, it attempted to buy a specific gamepass (that got deleted pretty quickly), created an API key, then advertised their scam. unexpectedly, the API key wasnt to steal your games or anything. they were using it to loop ban their victims' accounts, presumably by uploading innapropriate assets. very weird.
i got so many messages about people asking for permission to use my avatar and i recently changed my settings so that strangers cannot message me or join my games. it's a lot better now
I remember getting a DM for this, so as a clothing creator I was interested in what they had to offer - the person didn’t talk much and was very pushy about verifying in their server with the bit (so obviously I thought it was sketchy), I hope no one fell for it

funny story: i actually got a message from one of these scammers, specifically the motive creations guys! they used a hacked account to tell me that they wanted to buy one of my roblox games. i think it's important to mention that i do not own a single roblox game that is worth anything.

Every day i get scam messages. they usually either target devs or people with a lot of limited value. the downside of having 500k+ value on this crappy platform.
That’s sad, I feel really bad, these scammers HAVE NO LIFE! and that’s really why I don’t buy much with robux, usually a hat or two, maybe a face or hair.. Is that not possible in js? Python works the same as js (as you've described it) if you surround a string with '

The worst thing a hacker can do is not "steal" your account, but "destroy it". They can robotically send false reports to trigger the auto mods into permanently banning your Roblox account without needing to login it.
The funniest part about this scam for me, is I’m so technologically illiterate due to growing up on a farm without wifi for such a long time and then moving to Mexico, Panama, then back to the US where I was to busy to learn how to use computers, is I would get WAY to confused about the steps to take involving this, and would just give up before I even got to the website.

Unfortunately the community is filled with tons of scammers and bad actors trying to hack your Roblox account and the people who run these type of communities will not take action against scammers even if they see a scam in progress. My first time trying trading on Roblox was some guy trying to do the GFX scam on me and the people around me knew about it and did nothing about it. What they were offering me was way too good to be true and they wanted me to send a file so I obviously knew it was a scam. The community is just filled of really edgy and dodgy people too who constantly break TOS and seem to have almost no morals around “Randoms”.
i doubt the creator will see this but to ppl who will there’s a scam called a gfx scam, and it starts off kinda similar to this but it usually starts off in game, they (your potential hackers) say something along the lines of “i’m making a game and i want to add your avatar..” kinda similar to this if you follow through and talk some more to them, they’ll ask you to add them on Disc once you do they ask for your roblox gfx file, now for those who don’t know it’s basically a file that has information to everything on your account. and if you continue through and send it to them, you’re probably never getting your account back. this scam also bypasses two step verification
Finally someone talking about this, i got scammed by them like 1 month ago, they took all of my robux and deactive my account, now the support of roblox doesn't want to help me because they say that i never made a purchase or even that they doesn't have any information about gmail on my old account, that is so frustrating

you can’t even copyright someone for using “your” avatar. For one, all avatar item are free to use by anyone and that’s the reason that they’re on the marketplace. It’s also fair use. You wouldn’t/can’t copyright someone for having a matching outfit.
Probably another rabbit hole you could go down through is RUclips shorts livestreams scamming kids claiming people get "free Robux" if they join the group. So many fall for it 💀
8:45 Just find something like var r = 'some random letters' and copy those random letters without ', then go to any Base64 decoding page and paste the copied text there. As a result, you will probably get an E-mail address.

I just lost my account to this scam and i was a developer for over 6 years on Roblox with lots of robux and tons of groups and even projects that took years yet still aren't finished.
I did get scammed by this a few days ago.. though, I noticed that someone was in my account because of the age changing.. (2-step verification and emails from roblox) I immediately logged everyone else out of my account and I immediately went to change my password and changed the "parent's email" to my own email. I am so glad and relieved that I still have my account with me. Thanks for covering this, I think the only reason I fell for it is because I lack braincells 😭

I recently fell for a scam similar to this but different. What I mean by that is that the person told me to subscribe to their RUclips account and gave me their name. Then they told me to follow their group by clicking on the link and which led me to the 2 factor generator thing and which he described in the video it changed my birthdate and removed my email. It wasn’t the ro thing but something else. Thankfully I was able to recover my account quickly. It told me that someone from the Philippines logged into my account and gave me the option to report it and change my account password. I did so quickly. And then gave another option where I could log out of all accounts and I did. Then changed my password 2-3 times more.

for the scammer saying “we don’t want to get copyrighted for using your outfit.” Its not possible, you cant copyright claim somebody for using a roblox avatar, its impossible. its something different if it has your face, name, or any other private details. for a copyright claim, you need to file copyright on something legally. like in court, they will find it silly and not let you copyright an outfit on a video game. you can sue if they use a shirt with any of your personal unique information. like, face, email, ssn, credit card info, address, etc. if its your name like “John” you cant do it because names are reused. but if its a full name, you might be able to. just depends on what the court rules fair use, and not fair use

The reason why they take messages from the Sol’s RNG Discord, is because of the games immense popularity on Roblox. Another reason, is that people that aren’t very bright fall for these scams, and the people that fall for them, most likely play Sol’s RNG.

One way to avoid this, is the general knowledge that Bloxlink is the main verification tool used to verify your account from Roblox to Discord, so if a server doesn't use Bloxlink, that's an instant red flag.

This whole scam can just be avoided if you use 2% of your brain and realize Roblox owns the rights to all avatar items, accessories, pretty much anything under their umbrella, which means you cannot by extension DMCA them over "your" avatar you do not actively own the rights too, sure you can use it and Roblox allows you to use said customization of course, but at the end of the day, you do not own those items, the people who made them via UGC? They made it sure, but once again, Roblox owns the full legal rights to said assets, so the scam template outright stating they can get "DMCA copyrighted" from you specifically is genuinely hilarious to me

this is insane. i took down a similar scam about a month ago. it was like a downgraded version of this. they got their victims into their server with a message offering Robux, limiteds, or real money to use the victims avatar as an npc in their game. in their discord server, the bots just sent the same messages on loop. it had the same rolinked thing, but instead of stealing your account, it attempted to buy a specific gamepass (that got deleted pretty quickly), created an API key, then advertised their scam. unexpectedly, the API key wasnt to steal your games or anything. they were using it to loop ban their victims' accounts, presumably by uploading innapropriate assets. very weird.

funny story: i actually got a message from one of these scammers, specifically the motive creations guys! they used a hacked account to tell me that they wanted to buy one of my roblox games. i think it's important to mention that i do not own a single roblox game that is worth anything.

Every day i get scam messages. they usually either target devs or people with a lot of limited value. the downside of having 500k+ value on this crappy platform.
That’s sad, I feel really bad, these scammers HAVE NO LIFE! and that’s really why I don’t buy much with robux, usually a hat or two, maybe a face or hair.. I feel bad, because the behavior of these obvious adults is DISGUSTING. And I’m so done with scammers and hackers to the point that after my last online friend leaves me I’m quitting.

They also do this on TikTok! They send you a link that isn't th😞 roblox one for you to sign in and friend them to play games or trade in games. So when you sign in they take your account or take inventory, or anything you have in games
Fun fact: if u look at 9:45 on the 2FA, under the verify thing u have long text, THAT HAS A MISSPELLED WORD (if u dont want to look they typed „don/’t” instead of „don’t)

This is the shocking reality of Roblox trading. Unfortunately the community is filled with tons of scammers and bad actors trying to hack your Roblox account and the people who run these type of communities will not take action against scammers even if they see a scam in progress.
My first time trying trading on Roblox was some guy trying to do the GFX scam on me and the people around me knew about it and did nothing about it. What they were offering me was way too good to be true and they wanted me to send a file so I obviously knew it was a scam. The community is just filled of really edgy and dodgy people too who constantly break TOS and seem to have almost no morals around “Randoms”.

i doubt the creator will see this but to ppl who will there’s a scam called a gfx scam, and it starts off kinda similar to this but it usually starts off in game,
they (your potential hackers) say something along the lines of “i’m making a game and i want to add your avatar..” kinda similar to this
if you follow through and talk some more to them, they’ll ask you to add them on Disc
once you do they ask for your roblox gfx file, now for those who don’t know it’s basically a file that has information to everything on your account.
and if you continue through and send it to them, you’re probably never getting your account back. this scam also bypasses two step verification

you can’t even copyright someone for using “your” avatar. For one, all avatar item are free to use by anyone and that’s the reason that they’re on the marketplace. It’s also fair use. You wouldn’t/can’t copyright someone for having a matching outfit.

Probably another rabbit hole you could go down through is RUclips shorts livestreams scamming kids claiming people get "free Robux" if they join the group. So many fall for it 💀

I did get scammed by this a few days ago.. though, I noticed that someone was in my account because of the age changing.. (2-step verification and emails from roblox) I immediately logged everyone else out of my account and I immediately went to change my password and changed the "parent's email" to my own email. I am so glad and relieved that I still have my account with me. Thanks for covering this, I think the only reason I fell for it is because I lack braincells 😭

I recently fell for a scam similar to this but different.
What I mean by that is that the person told me to subscribe to their RUclips account and gave me their name. Then they told me to follow their group by clicking on the link and which led me to the 2 factor generator thing and which he described in the video it changed my birthdate and removed my email. It wasn’t the ro thing but something else.
Thankfully I was able to recover my account quickly. It told me that someone from the Philippines logged into my account and gave me the option to report it and change my account password. I did so quickly. And then gave another option where I could log out of all accounts and I did. Then changed my password 2-3 times more.
