I am using a mirror dash cam with reversing camera on my golf mk4 and I am very surprised and pleased with it, ingenious.

Just to say i did ok overall teacher said some good some a little bad just not to use to much acclerator leave roundabouts more confidently and slot into gears straighaway so its just little things ill focos more on gears and roundabouts videos ive come on so much better due to you two top people keep them up.

I failed my theory
I got 44/50 on questions
And 30/75 on hazard perception
But I’ve rebooked another test if I fail that one I’m gonna keep booking them til I pass
So at least I passed the questions

Does this have the moving parking lines when in reverse ?
No, it doesn’t any way of sensing the steering position to generate active guide lines. Only a display fitted by the original manufacturer could have those unfortunately.
Good review, just one thing, a very important thing that will be the deciding factor as to whether people buy this or not, you didn’t mention the price. You should mention the price near the start so people can make their own mind up as to if the product is worth its price.
We did consider saying how much the unit sold for (£130 currently) but since this can change we thought it would be better if we provided the Amazon link for people to click.
hi, really helpful thank you. I have been looking at these dash mirrors. Can you tell me if the GPS works and speed is shown and saved with the video on playback?
We did test the GPS, and as we said in the video it doesn't record the speed onto the video footage. You must use their software on a computer to see what speed the car was doing - which is a little inconvenient!
Did you have to hardwire both cameras into your car?
You don’t have to, but we did to give a neater installation. 👍🏼
Does this work for parking as well? I mean to say is when you're heading to hit the kerb when parking
It gives a great view behind the car, but like any other camera system we must also look all round the car for danger 👍🏼
Is it okay that students use this for driving tests as it’s not an actual mirror being used but a camera behind the vehicle?
Yes, it’s fine on a driving test. Several new cars come with monitors now - the Honda E even has all three ‘mirrors’ like this!
Can this record while the screen is off, and still be able to use as a mirror
When the screen is off, it’s a terrible mirror! All you can see is the reflection from the screen, just like looking at your phone turned off - way too dark.
Do you know if it's possible to use a wireless rear camera? What type of connector is this? This is not the common VGA cinch, right? Thanks for your nice video!
This device doesn't have the facility to receive wireless signals, so we had to use the supplied cable - which was plenty long enough and used a 3.5mm jack to connect. We recently reviewed a wireless backup camera, which worked very well - presumably that technology could be used in a dash cam as well if the manufacturer thought there was enough demand?
Not sure I get this but, I presume the rear camera has to be fitted for the 'Rear Mirror' screen to work to show what the normal interior mirror shows?
Yes, that's right.
This is a huge benefit to drivers of vans (where there isn’t a interior mirror).
We thought that - although where would they mount it? 🤔
Will this help with blind spots when changing lanes?
It does have a much wider view than the normal mirror, but we still advise a blind spot / shoulder check before a lane change.
Holy crap that's a lot of glare! I'm guessing its a legal requirement that it function as a mirror as well, but they need to pick either or, as that glare is horrible when the sun is shining in.
It might be how the camera makes it look. When driving our eyes just don't see the other reflections like that, just the view from the monitor. Perhaps they should use an anti-glare type of screen, like laptops used to use?

Yes, the brightness is controlled automatically so we are never blinded by following traffic. 👍🏼

I want to let yous know that I failed today due to my entering the roundabout and exit through the right-hand lane into the dual-carriageway.
The examiner said that if I didn't exit through the right-hand lane, I would've passed the test with 0 minor.
I realized what I did but it was too late for me to change, but I still changed because I had to.
Sigh* Only If I didn't.
