@@DIYwithChris thanks for the reply. My truck doesnt have a lock on it now so if I understand right all I have to do is buy the handle and bezel for a lock and install. Thx for your help and great useful video
Chris, I have a lock that looks just like this except that it has the camera in the handle. With that exception everything else looks the same. The lock has the same bent metal piece that I believe is supposed to go into the square opening that is on the latch. I did all that but when I turn the key the metal piece hits inside the square opening and will not rotate all the way. Is that bent piece supposed to go somewhere else and prevent the latch from opening.
You might have missed the scratches on the truck or the dent in the wheel well. Trucks aren't made for being pretty, they are made for work. As long as my new handle works, that's what's important. I don't claim to be a professional at any point. Thanks for the concern.
Great video! This guide worked on how i replaced my 08 Gmc sierra non lock.
Where did you get the lock ?
From Amazon. Link is in the description.
I thought you had to add rods for the lock to attach to. Are the rods already there in the tailgate attached to the handle?
They are already in there. Just switching out the handle mechanism.

Joe Rodriguez can you send a link? Please
Here’s a cool idea… make a tutorial video but stand in front of the camera so no one can see what’s being done. Smh
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. Not everything you do in life will be perfect. Have a great day!
Oh great! Even With the crappy lighting I can see where he chipped the paint levering the screwdrivers behind the panel!
