This was a gorgeous transformation and I love the way you made it all cohesive. I’m not always into contact paper but you made it look damn good. For the coffee jars, I don’t know ones with good seal wood lids, but daiso has some with good sealing mirror/chrome style lids that look like they’d match the metal details on your tall cabinet pulls.
You did a phenomenal job on that kitchen! It really came out beautifully! I love the backsplash idea and I just might do that in my own kitchen. Well done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The kitchen is beautiful. You did an amazing job. Did you cut and put together your trim pieces yourself? If so, I would love a tutorial video. Again amazing job!
After all that work, I hope you're staying there a longgggggg time. Imagine the work having to take all that off when you move, ugh. Although, I think your landlord would say, nope, leave it please, pretty please. This looks really amazing, well done.
Fellow canisters are great for keeping coffee fresh! They come in a few color options, including a clear one. Opaque is better though bc that'll keep it away from the sun and keep it fresh :)
Wow! You just put together a luxury kitchen. It is gorgeous and I mean gorgeous. You, my dear, are amazing! I've been in my home for 16 years. It was built in 62 and the kitchen had bright YELLOW Formica. I did an upgrade countertop color change to black about 10 years ago and I'm ready to do it all bc who knows how long it will be until a formal remodel and I just found my dream kitchen and it's yours. I've watched dozens of people do this, professionally and DIY and IMO yours is by far the loveliest one. Thank you for sharing it with us. You are remarkable and so talented. I just subbed.
Wow, Aww thank you so much!!!. I'm so glad you loved it! it makes me happy to know the makeover gives you some inspiration for your kitchen. I appreciate your kind words and trust me even doing the smallest change in your kitchen. Will make you feel great about your space.
Aww thank you. Yes, I also added the construction paper just to add extra protection because I haven’t used this specific vinyl before I’ve used others and it’s come off with no residue but since I wasn’t sure about this one, I wanted to be cautious.
Yeah, I love doing this because you can change up the paint whenever you want, but still keep the integrity of the cabinets and it’s easy to remove after.
Simply beautiful job! If I may make a suggestion. You may want to put up a protective barrier behind the stove top for cooking. A clear tempered glass or something would help and not take away from the design.
@@valentinavisbal375 hello yes I do if you scroll down in the description box, I listed everything there did I forget some thing that you’re looking for? I try to add Canadian and US to make it easier for everyone.
Hey Tiera I love how your kitchen came out I think it looks absolutely incredible!! You are definitely setting a new standard for people that are trying to rent a home but also want to have a very stylish kitchen. Just because you're renting doesn't mean that your that your house can't become your home. Also I wanted to ask, could you link the adhesive that you used for the cabinets, also the paper board that you used for them as well? P.S. I think what would be really cool would be if you added a faux range hood to the existing cabinets above the stove I've never really seen anyone (as in a renter) do that before and I think it would really set off your kitchen.
Thank you for your such kind words. I like to live my motto live your life by design not by default. And I really do want more people to feel like their house is their home. I linked the contact papers in the description box but as for the construction paper I used I just got it from the dollar store nothing fancy. It’s funny you commented that because I was thinking the same thing and I was trying to figure out how I would make something like that so maybe I will make a video someday about that.
@@missjazabella hello it’s from Home Depot and I put the link in the description. They sell it by the foot so depends on how many feet you need. The cabinets did take I would say total maybe two weeks just because I put so much detail into it with the trim trying to find paint, building the upper cabinets etc. and I was also was doing other projects in between so I’d say roughly a week to two weeks.
@@pebbliescraig4904 the person’s name I mentioned was Ryan Serhant him, and Jeremiah Brent he designed this Chic Washington D.C. Townhouse that were really inspired me.
Aww thank you ☺️ I just used simple plywood. I believe I used the thinness which was 1/4 so it wasn’t too heavy and a 2 x 4 to attach it to. Also, if you have a staple gun, I recommend getting longer staples. If not, just use regular nails to keep it attached.
That kitchen looks waaaay better. Before you remove it I would ask the landlord IF they want you to leave it Brit just taking it down b4 you leave. I would
Good job! Did you paint the base of the island, or is that paper as well? If so, how did you do the little triangle pieces? I do think the pantry doors are a bit busy with all the trim but still looks good. When you eventually move out to you plan on removing all that? Did you remove all the stuff you did to your apartment? If so, do you have video of that?
Hello thank you I put the contact paper on and then painted over it similar to how I did the cabinet doors to protect them. I just made the contact paper fit over everything. I do plan on removing everything when I leave and I don’t have a video of my apartment because I still have it in my possession. I do plan on doing a removal video for this house when the time comes.
I'm really intrigued if those doing this work in rentals 1) asked their landlord permission first and 2) how was the removal process, was there 'glue residue'? I'm not sure if this person is a renter or home owner but YT keeps showing me these videos.
@@fiestygemini2379 hello well you could just ask me. I am a renter. My landlord does know what I’m doing. They’ve seen it and they love it actually and many of my videos I have said speak to your landlord for anything that would be more permanent like painting. if you watch the video, you would specifically see me put paper underneath my peel and stick to reduce any residue on products that I’m unfamiliar with, when there’s products I know and have used before I can rely on them. I don’t have to worry about that, but I specifically took measures in order to reduce any chance of residue from the adhesive being left glue residue can be removed. Just use goo gon or a blow dryer if you ever have an issue with that. And the only time you don’t have to ask their landlord is if you’re using things that are removable and are renter friendly, that do not cause damage or harm to the property. It’s like putting in a sofa, carpet or curtains. It can be gone when you leave if you do anything that would cause holes or permanent change you need to speak with your landlord. You do not need to speak with the landlord for instance, to put up a full upper shelf that is not attached to the the kitchen cabinets at all it just sits there like a decorative piece of art on top. And every country, state, province, etc., has their own rules of what a renter can and cannot do when I move to a place I speak with my landlord ahead of time because I know I’m gonna do makeovers because that’s some thing that I love to do and I look for houses that I can change my landlords have actually even given me permission to rip up the carpet and put new floors down I think it’s great to have transparency with your landlord. If you plan on doing any changes to the space but the reason I do these videos and tell people what I specifically am doing and why is so they can also make their own decisions as to if this would work for their space. In my previous apartment, my landlord let me do whatever I want. It was a much older building. There were no rules or regulations. They didn’t really care. They thought everything I did was an upgrade anyways, so everyone has to do their own due diligence. Sometimes people fast-forward my videos or say I’m talking too much. They don’t necessarily listen to what I say, but I do give disclaimers and all my of my videos as to what and why I’m doing it and what I think would work for them I try to help people and push them in the right direction of what is rent friendly what is not And the potential cautions they should be taking I have seen many people do things that are not renter friendly in their spaces but everything I do I try to make sure it is safe for a rental and if it’s not, I make sure to tell people in the video that I had permission ahead of time to do whatever it is that I did.
I’ve watched a lot of “renter friendly” videos but not all DiYs are easy to remove. One of the best I’ve seen though is when people put a shower liner on their existing flooring and then go over with whatever tile or laminate they want! The wall paper I keep seeing is hit or miss unless you know for sure the walls have been primed and painted and the residue issues with peel and stick counter depend on the brand
I absolutely love how these cabinets turned out. So much so that i will be trying it in mybown kitchen. But girl please try to cut down on the rambling.
