Maxi's confidence is shot. No way he plays as a center in heavy minutes. His best quality is being able to switch in the perimeter and be a weakside help. He's a poor rebounder, though, and we still don't know just how healthy his right shoulder is. My guess, though, is that he'll get the KP assignment and switch to Tatum from time to time because he has the mobility to do so.
So many analysis, all of them go straight to the individual matchups, like Kyrie attacks depend only on that. Most of the time when Kyrie had been effective during the last three months had been due to be part of a team effect that disarticulate opponent defense through a series of combines multiple attacks with lobs, dribbles, triples done by all and mostly made by Luka and Kyrie secondarely. Afcourse these have to be effective for to work in disarticulating the opponent strategy and making it be erratic ending up making less triples etc. it start with Luka making a triple from long and Kyrie making a simple score with a fade fallow by a dunk by Gafford and a block in the midddle of these actions, unless Celtics avoid these actions totally, and even if they make their triples, like in game 1 and 2 against Minnesota, Mavs didn’t make that many triples the whole game but were able to be close just by making lots of 2 pointers. But Kyrie was able to score in front of strong guarding in many occasions because opponents defence was already having havoc. Mavs did this by team effort on the three series and also during regular season in April and March, it doesn’t mean they’ll be successful vs Celtics, but they still have the means to do it and they will make the effort. Whichever of the two teams that succeed will be the one that better disarticulate the opposing powerfully tactics which have brought them to the finals. No individual matchups analysis will guess that in advance. Comparing tactics would be more interesting than comparing the individual matchups
Very simple boston has to score and get enough stops after getting a lead or has to get stops and score off defense to come from behind. Tatum and brown(enough said).
Luka is shooting 43% for the 3 series and Tatum is shooting 46%, and the only reason they have so many points is because they are volume shooters, so it will be up to the other four players in each team to step it up, they will dictate who wins this series. To me Tatum and Luka are the same, have three great games and then two stinkers, they are just not consistent.

Sorry, but have to disagree RE Gobert vs Porzingis. Both offer their primary defensive value as help side rim defenders and Porzingis is one of the best rim defenders in the world too. Both are absolutely lunch meat if you get them on a switch with a good guard. Yes, Gobert is better, but not in an entirely different stratosphere.

So it's comes to how the Mavs gonna guard Boston. With the last series how they guard Minnesota, this will be different how they guard Celtics the last time they meet. If Celtics not gonna heat those 3's they not gonna beat the Mavs. For the Mavs they just have to leave 1 vs 1 and let the Celtics make or miss the 3's.
That’s risky. Just had a 82 game season where the Celtics were crushing teams because of the threes. Plus leaving them one on one will get Luka and Kyrie cooked.
Luka always needs a little help from his friends besides go to lively. He never knows who will show up to score 4 in the first half or who will play 4 qtrs
Lmao 13:37 I'm sorry but you're WRONG. Rudy Gobert is NOT a completely superior defensive player to Al or KP. Rudy camps out in the fucking lane as his gimmick just because he's tall and yet can still be shredded in pick and roll and in switches. Yes that's considering he's improved on his footspeed the last 2 seasons, he's still shit. And he's completely worthless in the perimeter, whereas KP and Horford actually block 3 pointers, defend the midrange and the paint and can actually switch.
Luka is good at funneling guys into his bigs. Try him if you want but if they miss he will be looking to attack for trying him. Ask the Clippers and OKC lol. Luka is a dog give him any reason to get fired up and it’s a wrap.
Because Horford isn't going to be starting and will be hidden behind KP's minutes. In addition to the fact that in the regular season the celtics put Tatum on Lively (his favourite roll man) so that Tatum gets switched onto Luka which is probably the best matchup the celtics can ask for

@@boethius8114 , they've got Hardy and Green. DJJ, PJ, Lively, and Gafford can leak out for an easy dunk at the other end -- we've all seen this in against Minnesotta.
could the mavs go for a small ball 5 with maxi at centre, can pick and pop and shoot above the break as well as stand in the corner and hit threes spacing the floor
He’ll get cooked by porzingis
That’s normal for tho. Coach’s gameplan to stop tha star player so the star player needs time to adjust
@@KurtyAnderson Tatum plays on a #1 super team carrying him. Luka plays on a mavs team he is carrying. So it sb over in 4
Tatum has had the easiest road to the finals that I can remember. Celtics are .500 against teams in the West. Reality is about to set on the LEastern conference.
@@southparkgdp The Celtics were 23-7 against the west, while the Mavs were 19-11 against the east, 2+1 is not 4...you need to go back to school to learn how to do math, correctly.
@@Davidstone568 Only chance Mavs have in this game is if Tatum sucks, which he has before when he has tried to take over games...he has hijacked so many games that have ended in being loses by playing hero ball and completely ignoring the rest of his teammates.
Dallas' team is bigger, stronger and younger. In my opinion, also more athletic. These are advantages that they should take advantage of.
Luka will hunt KP mercilessly.
And everyone will hunt Luka foh
@@CARBONHAWK1😂 we seen how that worked out for the wolves
@@Vkvsh No one on the wolves is as good as Tatum or Brown though. With all due respect to Ant he is young and doesn’t have the same bag as the J’s.
The Wolves didn’t really hunt Luka like that. If anything, the Clippers series is a better indication of how Boston will attack the mismatch.

Mailbag Question: how do you view this playoffs? Do you think it’s different from last year? Asking causing I’m still about 5% seeing about how you see the game been watching for a bit your nice question cause last year I kinda picked teams that was better than the other & had experience and it resulted right this year it’s based on matchups why do you think it’s different this year? If you understand what I’m asking
Man after watching Jason’s 2 videos, it looks like Luka will need to play out of his mind and drop 40 point triple doubles for the Mavs to have a chance to win.
Which…he may do.
@@donaldpratt2296 he averages nearly 40 vs the Celtics, but also loses every game by double digits 🤣🤣 Celtics will smoke the Mavs.
@@iBGalaxy oh, I agree. I’m hoping the Celtics can get this over with relatively quickly to not give Luka and Kyrie a chance to make magic happen.
I get what u saying jason but do you honestly think luka or kyrie will be scared of tatum at the rim? Seriously 😂
By game 3 Luka will have figured out where and how to exploit Boston's defense. Just a matter of having it 1-1 going into that game
The gamed your watching dallas was in the midst of a bad losing streak 5 out of 6 with gafford and pj coming off the bench and they were lost defensively. The miami game at halftime is when dallas got serious with who they are now as yall see them in the playoffs. Clean slates we will see
Sorry, but have to disagree RE Gobert vs Porzingis. Both offer their primary defensive value as help side rim defenders and Porzingis is one of the best rim defenders in the world too. Both are absolutely lunch meat if you get them on a switch with a good guard. Yes, Gobert is better, but not in an entirely different stratosphere.
Mavericks in 5, great video tho buddy hope you had a good time with your partner
"Gafford won't be able to post up Jalen Brown" HUH???
Feels like kyrie wont have a great series cause of derrick white jrue holiday but kyrie scored 40 on the 2016 warrios avg 27 4 and 4 vs prime klay iggy draymond Curry but this men is basically saying he wont be efficient and will he held in check we shall see but i think kyrie has proven he can be unguardable for long stretches
That's almost 10 years ago. Kyrie in his last 10 games vs Boston is 20ppg on 40 FG% 30 3PT%. That's regular season + playoffs.
@@sindilacionBoston's guards couldn't stop Nembhard and McConnell.
@@williamroper5422 yet they did and got swept. Are you gonna move the goalpost again? Go right ahead.
Chet Holmgren shot 37% from 3 during the season, Porzingis shot 37,5%. So not much of a difference, only Chet shot pretty bad during the Playoffs. We'll see what Porzingis will do this Playoff run.
So the Finals are probably over by now... anyone know who won?
I think the nba scheduled the finals a week after the super bowl
It’s funny hearing all these analysts come up with these hypothetical looks to stop Luka before every series and then Luka comes in and destroys every covg in front of him and ends up creating wide open passes anyways.
I find it funny how the fans of every team talk like guarding the Mavs will be easy but there is never a consensus on what that easy route is.
@@williamroper5422are we listening to the same show and analysis?? When has Jason (or any reasonable analyst) said guarding Luka would be easy??
@@JasonJia909 People like William don't process things very well, at least not when they already feel strongly about anything. They create their own narrative in their head, then they only allow in what others say through the filter of their own, preconceived narrative.
No Colin Cowherd bro please 😭
Yeah, that dude is insufferable.
Dallas will run a lot of double screen actions with pin downs on the weak side in this series.
Brissett?
My advice to Boston? Watch GSW vs Mavs WCF 22. they were picking Luka up off the floor, smacking his big butt, getting him to laugh. Basically being his best friends. Under no circumstance do you allow ANYONE to trash talk Luka or kai.
this is your advice to Boston? Boston?!?!? The players might be like that but that Boston crowd is going feed Luka--and I'm completely here for it.
lol good advice. But fortunately for Mavs fans the people of Boston are A holes and incapable of being nice to an opposing player.
They go getting on kyrie and Luka gonna take it personal
Completely different team and Luka was the only superstar on the mavs. Warriors had Wiggins, looney, and Poole playing outta their minds lmao Wiggins and green made Luka work really hard
Luka eats oatmeal without water or milk. Kyrie wants to disarm the Salvation Army.
Tatum is a two-way player. Maybe he'll be able to limit D.J. below 10 points.
Celtics are stacked with two-way players. I struggle to name one on the Mavs lol. Luka and Kyrie will get cooked and worn out on defense.
Why is it always how can Boston guard Dallas and not how can Dallas guard Boston. Think media just want to make this more competitive than what it is so it’s a topic avoided by everybody.
Watch the video prior to this one.
Al horford will average 35 points + mavs have no answer for al
Yeah sure buddy
Lukas not making the crazy shots he normally does his percentages are down I don't expect him to be comfortable at all
Lukas? Luka!! He didnt the first 2 games his body didnt look great but that changed in the WCF
@RobMoreno-mw5uq no he really didn't but he also has just struggled in the playoffs shooting as a whole... especially from the 3 pt line
You’re not paying any attention at all, he’s looked like his normal self and his percentages have been exactly like normal since game 5 of the OKC series.
Luka cant be denied..
The worst matchup for mavs were the nuggets.
Celtics will choke in the money time..
KI will only wake up for those crucial moments.
The mavs would have looked like the best offense of all time against that nuggets fake defense
The one key to the Celtics winning: DON'T BE LAZY.
I love how people come to watch this show to hear something good about Dallas and if it doesn’t happen they are mad lol just let the series play out. It’s a straight toss up
Almost all clips cs are winning
The more film I see the more I think Boston takes this in 6
So it's comes to how the Mavs gonna guard Boston. With the last series how they guard Minnesota, this will be different how they guard Celtics the last time they meet. If Celtics not gonna heat those 3's they not gonna beat the Mavs. For the Mavs they just have to leave 1 vs 1 and let the Celtics make or miss the 3's.
that would be a mistake.
That’s risky. Just had a 82 game season where the Celtics were crushing teams because of the threes. Plus leaving them one on one will get Luka and Kyrie cooked.
Ok, so all they have to do is prevent Boston from doing what they do worst and let them do what they do best. Got it! I like that plan.
If you want to let Boston live or die by 3 then they are going to get swept
They would get swept with this strategy
If Luka can do whatever he wants on the court - which you said, they can’t stop him - then this series is over.
Luka always needs a little help from his friends besides go to lively. He never knows who will show up to score 4 in the first half or who will play 4 qtrs
Luka pretty much got what he wanted in both matchups in the regular season and they still lost both times lol..once was by 30 without porzingis

I’m sorry when did Tatum and Brown become better defenders than Kawhi and PG? Luka abused them idk why he act like Luka can be held 1 on 1

Didn't make 1st or 2nd team All Defensive.

If you watched the last 2 series that kinda exactly what he is lmao he was also a defensive beast against Philly last year.
Arguing against someone who watches film for a living lol
@@siba2379 Exactly. Tatum is not McDaniels but he's way better than the Mavs forwards.
I predict the celtics are gonna get eaten alive on the boards. Dallas will have a lot of second chance possessions this series.
All dallas need is a foul trouble on any boston starter
Lmao 13:37 I'm sorry but you're WRONG. Rudy Gobert is NOT a completely superior defensive player to Al or KP.
Rudy camps out in the fucking lane as his gimmick just because he's tall and yet can still be shredded in pick and roll and in switches. Yes that's considering he's improved on his footspeed the last 2 seasons, he's still shit. And he's completely worthless in the perimeter, whereas KP and Horford actually block 3 pointers, defend the midrange and the paint and can actually switch.
Shouldn't he show footage of Dallas actually winning?? All the footage he used Dallas was losing lol
When healthy no one has ever limited Luka. If he’s shooting it well his bad game is literally 30,10,10.
Luka is good at funneling guys into his bigs. Try him if you want but if they miss he will be looking to attack for trying him. Ask the Clippers and OKC lol. Luka is a dog give him any reason to get fired up and it’s a wrap.
In this series he'll be funneling guys into free baskets. Too many good shooters that can and will beat you.
Whoever Horford is guarding, luka will put them in the pick n roll and cook horford. Iono why you didn't bring that up. He does play a lot
Because Horford isn't going to be starting and will be hidden behind KP's minutes. In addition to the fact that in the regular season the celtics put Tatum on Lively (his favourite roll man) so that Tatum gets switched onto Luka which is probably the best matchup the celtics can ask for
Rudy better than Al on defense?!.. idk.. how much does bball iq factor into this assessment? lol cuz I’ll take Al over Rudi all day
YES!!!
He is only one player; BROWN ALONE will stop HIM DEAD.
He will score MAX 24 that’s it.
The little, old and slow helper, IRVING ONLY WILL SCORE 9.
Luka cannot play defense against elite wings.. don’t you people watch the games?.
Ironically it’s you who isn’t watching the games. He’s held up great against SGA and Ant in the last 2 series.

This is useless. The play in finals will be different from regular series. Both team studied films after films to counter each other.
Tirmony argues that Gobert is the best defender in the league. He is a miserable person and never played real basketball it’s obvious
If Luka is great Mavs will win.
If Tatum is great the Celtics could still lose
If Tatum is great the Celtics will win. If Tatum is mediocre the Celtics can still win. If Luka is anything less than a supernova the Mavs lose, that's the difference; Mavs have best player in the series, celtics have 5 of the next 6 best players.
