Many times during this part of Kobe's career, he'd be the "bailout" to avoid shot clock violations. So he was forced to shoot many difficult shots.

After that he killed his stats as a shell of his former self.. But what do you say? Kobe's competitive drive, determination, and passion for the game wouldn't allow him to walk away.

    • @GoatReactz

Many times. Try his while career. This did this even his last season. His last game even. He would try to get them going then when 4 seconds hits the clock they pass it back. That fucks up your fg %. Bunch of broken plays and bailout shots.

Kobe Haters should watch these early 2007 games and listen to every commentator saying "Only 18 shots a game? He needs to get back to the 27 shots a game he's been taking." The Lakers, at times, have needed Kobe to light it up. And with this scrub ass team of course he was gonna fill it up. It's the only reason they won games.

This was yet another occasion where if Kobe was on the floor, you were never out of it. He was an absolute scoring machine who could score from, literally, ANYWHERE on the floor against anybody; he’s the greatest scorer I’ve ever seen.
Most people (haters) would look at the amount of field goal attempts, but given the quality of teammates Kobe had, he needed to shoot/score as much as much possible to give those Lakers teams (2005-‘06 & 2006-‘07) a chance to win; his prime was certainly not fulfilled.

Oliver Sanvictores I'm sure if kobe was a couple inches taller an a bit stronger he would turn into a better version of lebron. Kobe is limited by what he has in terms of physical ability. Kobe has better skills than lebron. Kobe has a better shot, (in my opinion) better court vision, and can defend other 2-guards with ease. LeBRON IS GREAT; but when comparing them, people have to realize lebron has an size advantage over kobe... an MJ... and many others.

See the difference? When kobe scores extremely high, it’s usually out of necessity because he has no choice but to carry the team most of the time especially that 81 point game. Star players nowadays *cough* *harden* *cough* either stay in the game despite having a comfortable lead or stay in the game to reach their ppg despite a blowout game. That’s stat padding. Kobe is different.

Goat Reacts wasted what??? He came in the league in a beautiful situation playing with the most dominant big man in modern history, and the HOF coach Phil. He ran everybody off because he wanted to be the man and when he finally able to showcase his skills and leadership on a mediocre team he couldn’t even get to the playoffs, they bring Phil back and he couldn’t get pass the first round.

It took 2 overtimes for the lakers to reach 112 pts. Not to mention, kobe having 53 of the 112. Defense back then was so different compared to today's cupcake era. I bet kobe would average 40 in today's nba considering the soft ass defense, the pace and the spacing.
