@@joeyblogsy Tbh I find No.2 not that difficult once you strengthen your 3rd, 4th and 5th finger and play a lot of Bach!

Biggest problem I have was getting the rythm right. Have to use synthesia a lot to build it up to the right speed. At 70% now at the middle part, 80 at the start and ending. It's more difficult and more beautiful then expected!

If i could learn only a few pieces it would be this etude, Claire de lune, the wedding march, the funeral march...that would pretty much cover major human events

A bit late here but thanks for this really helpful video! Different sets of rhythms is helping me on this one. I agree too about Trifonov's Rubinstein comp performance of this - I remember watching that video for the first time and being stunned by how beautiful it was. I actually had the privelge of playing for Trifonov in a masterclass a few years ago (which was a strange idea at first as he's only a couple years older than me haha) - I unintentionally picked one of his favourite pieces (Scriabin sonata no 2) which was cool.

and this other thing :focus on the leading voice ,those arpeggios that come after that are just the echos and they shouldn't sound as much as the leading notes. So keep that in mind ! it'll really make it easier

I hope your students don't call you "Hey Josh". There's such a thing as deference and respect to someone who is your teacher, not your schoolmate. If they were not raised properly by parents (which is the problem) to do this naturally i would not take them as student. This seems to be a problem only in united-statian mentality where the father wants to be friend with his boy instead of responsibly handling his father role (which is harder), this may explain why a lot of american adults are just big boys, not adults.
