A man who claimed herbicides containing glyphosate had caused his cancer is to receive $289m (£226m) in damages from Monsanto court case. So not harmful?

If you think glyposate is safe would you take a drink of it?

I would not take a drink of it. However, I have inhaled glyphosate spray particles while working. I have also absorbed some amount through the skin. I try to minimize my exposure to any herbicide including glyphosate as much as reasonably possible. I also really try to limit exposure of non-target organisms, especially desirable plants.

@@GreenShoots in 2015 the World Health Organization listed glyphosate as a possible carcinogen. Why take the chance. Everybody thought that asbestos was safe and then they found out it caused cancer. My guess is that eventually they're going to find that out about many chemicals that they consider safe.

@@marksavino2580 You are well informed! I especially think your last sentence is really important, and I wish more people would have that skepticism. Based on what I have read about the toxicity of glyphosate and I have read a lot (but, bear in mind, I am not a toxicologist or even a scientist.) - if it is used in a targeted way, its potential to harm the user or the broader environment (including other people) is limited. I also think it is one of the most effective chemicals for the doing so many things that are really important to our environment like restoring native habitat.

I will gladly drink glyphosate at the rate prescribed on the label, But only if you in turn drink one of the pesticides used in organic agriculture. Pesticides such as, but not limited to:
      Rotenone
      Copper sulfate
      Peracetic acid
      Ferric phosphate
      Magnesium sulfate
      Sulfurous acid
      Hydrogen chloride
Or how about you drink some organic fertilizer - i.e. a tea of steer manure.
You put your money where your mouth is by uploading a video of you drinking a steer manure tea, or one of the above pesticides used in organic agriculture, if you think they are so safe.

I didn’t mean to be too sarcastic but even drinking the 30% vinegar would probably kill me a little quicker. L O L

It's always good to be a bit skeptical. Any source of information has to be tested and questioned.
