    I loved the PMDG 777 in P3D and I am happy that we will soon be able to hop into it again in MSFS! One tiny little detail that I cannot unsee now is the fact that the hand that holds the tablet in the center position looks like the hand of a corpse xD.

    Yeah, as much as I love flying, I generally don't do flights longer than two hours, three max, it feels like I'm wasting my time staring at a screen for hours on end unable to do anything else except watch RUclips during the flight on my PC. Using the Auto Cruise feature sounds like an excellent way to do long haul without having to sit here for 7 - 10 hours. I'm just wondering if "A Pilot's Life - Chapter 2" will function normally with Auto Cruise (Time Compression).

    • @enriqueosuna
      @enriqueosuna 4 месяца назад +6

      APLv2 works well with auto time compression. I use it in the PMDG737 for longer than 4 hour flights and with the obvious result that you will only get credit for 1 hour flight, if you were flying a 4 hour duration flight, and use 4X auto compression. The advantage is that now you can fly from KJFK to EGLL in 2 hours using a 4X compression, and over water you can go to 8X.

    • @fortel7939
      @fortel7939 4 месяца назад +5

      I am using APL2 and I am often using the auto cruise of the 737.
      It will work normally, the only thing is that it use the actual flight time and not the in-sim flight time.
      Meaning that you will be payed less.
      For exemple : if you are flying an 8h flight but do 4x acceleration, you will only be payed for 2h of flying and it will be registered like that in the logbook

    • @MoonHowlerGaming
      @MoonHowlerGaming 4 месяца назад +2

      @@enriqueosuna Ah, good to know. So it works, but only credits real world time, kind of what I was afraid of.

      Why do you feel that you have to sit down the whole flight? I thought it was pretty obvious that you can just leave when cruise begins

    • @MoonHowlerGaming
      @MoonHowlerGaming 4 месяца назад

      @@mammid9622 My PC is my only source of entertainment. If I am flying for 6, 7, 8 hours, I can't do anything else on the PC except browse the internet or watch youtube or a movie. I have ADHD and get bored easily. I would easily decide 2 hours into a 6 hour flight, "nope" alt+f4, and launch Cyberpunk, RDR2, Star Citizen, depends on my mood. So 2 - 3 hours is about my max flight length in APLv2 or NeoFly.

    Very good explanation Gav. I can’t wait any longer. The time compression option is adapted from their 737s which is indeed a very nice feature. Use quite a lot. For those who don’t know it, It is activated on the captains clock. Color of the LCD will change in green, yellow and red and will reduce to normal speed around waypoint changes and big background calculation. So nice they implemented it also in this big jet. Thanks again for the preview.

      Its unique feature in the sim because the only people who would ever use it would be the A&P after changing a compensator or something like that. No pilot is ever going to actually mess with that. I doubt the pilot even knows where to go to change it, much less actually change it.

    I'm gonna miss flying the 787-8 for my long-hauls - my favorite airplane in sim and irl - but I'm super-excited about the 777. I hope the learning curve isn't significantly higher than it was for the 737 which was a bear for a right-brained, non-pilot like me to learn to fly… I still follow a large Word doc checklist I made every time I fly that plane… Hopefully, a lot of the automated systems in the 777 will help with that respect.
    Also, I hope it's possible to turn off the maintenance stuff. That's a level of realism I'm not looking for. I just want to fly the plane, I'd like to let an imaginary maintenance crew worry about the tires and brakes. And I'm glad there's a GSX profile. I was worried about that. I was worried someone would have to adapt one from the Captain Scam 777 and hope it was in the ballpark to start out. Thank goodness that isn't the case.

    • @ThePamapink
      @ThePamapink 4 месяца назад +2

      I think that the 787 and the 777 share the same type rating in real life because of the similariy of the system / cockpit / procedures, so I think you already are at 90% knowledge of the procedures if you fly the 787 often.
      I think PMDG said that you can turn off the failures in the options inside the FMS.

    I just wish they added a auto save. Because ms is known for ctds. Worst thing is to fly for 8 hours just for it ti crash. So bad of them to be so lazy

      Yeah heard some day that, we have to see. I’m worried like a few days out and all the lifting of embargoes on showing aircraft they not named the price! I can only assume that if that was good, it be marketed ahead so I assuming it expensive like £100 or something - I guess we find out soon.

      @@erickalonji4408 yeah get everyone excited and wanting them - boom here is the price! Hope I’m wrong but if the prices was a plus for what you getting they advertise and market that which there not so much expecting a shock - I know it took a long time and high quality but think there is a cut off on prices and that high many won’t buy and will wait

    Complete high-level product, but with poor immersion. These GE90 are more like a vacuum cleaner. You need Boris before launching this product so high level and so poor in immersion

    I love the scripted 2fps ultra basic engine wobble animation... at least if it was dynamic it wouldn't give that impression of a 1 second loop animation...
    Honestly, PMDG is really far far from superior quality now a days in terms of sound and art. Now a days you have companies that want to push themselves forward and propose real game changer addons, and on the other hand, you have old companies like PMDG that are just trying to make a much money as possible with an already very well profitable +10year old addon without giving too much effort.
    Think twice before giving them your money guys, specially if you already bought their T7 2 times ;)

    just another boring again modern aircraft by adding gimmick features to what already out there, no one develop the classic like flyjsim did amazing jobs with, very boring, won't spend a penny on this one
