Let me suggest, right off, that you put zip ties on the string/cable of all bows on display to prevent customer dry fires. We did that after two incidents in the shop. Cheap and easy insurance. Also, keep a work space away from customer access as well. While doing initial setups for demo and delivery in front of customers is great, doing intense repair work while being distracted by customers is just asking for problems. Having been lead tech and shop manager for several years I can say that having that separate space for in depth bow work is essential to your mental well being. It is also why we try to do the majority of service work during off hours.
@@kveritas1 we will be doing the Ziptie method. I agree with you having 2 places to service equipment. Anything beyond pressing a bow to install a peep or attach a cable driven rest will still take place in that room. 👊🏻
Love to see to the American dream come true with such a young motivated couple. Can’t wait to witness your journey. And please remember customer centered care. I left a couple of bow shops after spending hundreds of dollars on updates or replacements only to have my money taken and no desire by staff to help me learn how to effectively operate, adjust, or shoot with the new equipment. It was like thanks, but you’ll have to schedule and pay for a future time to mentor you on purchased items. That sucks!
Congrats and good luck! May I suggest when you hang the bows on the wall hang them facing forward rather than sideways. You will be able to maximize your wall space that way. Also this will allow the brand and model logo to face out so the customer can see it. Again congratulations!!!
Congratulations! I purchased my first Mathews bow (DXT) from there in 2008. Since then I’ve moved all over NC but will be moving back to the Charlotte area this week for work. I will stop in and see you guys when I get settled. Again, congratulations and best of luck with your bow shop.
I just moved to Charlotte from Louisiana and just started looking for a new archery shop since the season just ended. I decided that Barefoot would be the first local place I check out then 15 minutes later I get on RUclips and see this video. I had to do a double take lol Congratulations! I can’t wait to check out the shop
Got my “re-entry” bow there in 2022. Glad to see the shop is staying open and is in good hands. Need to make a trip or 2 there from Iredell County when you open back up.

Nice step in your life, wish there where shops like this in Sweden, must follow this and see where it brings you and your ideas. 🙂 maybe soundproof your shooting area. 😋
Like the idea of bows up flat on wall save space hang a certain model flat and those that are like that straight so like every time it changes to a different brand fist one flat rest to safe space straight out good luck following
Exciting!! I’m from Southern Indiana. When you have your official opening, I’m driving up to see it and meet you all! Yes…..I love archery. 👍 Congratulations and the Best of Luck going forward.
Might suggest separating anything left handed from right. As a lefty I hate having to dig through to find the left handed version, especially if they are on the same hook. Also prevents accidental purchases.
Congrats! Living my dream! Could not be sustainable where I live... Wishing I could open a shop with a shooting range up to 50 meters here.. range is a lot of space for a commercial building.. cost a lot.. good luck!✌️👍👌♥️🇨🇦
Awesome man, a good shop is a blessing to any area, I know you guys will make this thing great. Wondering if yall will be at some TACs this year? Especially TN, a buddy and I will be there. Would love to meet ya.
Jeff - I'd like to send you some photos of a bow shop that might provide some additional ideas for your new bow shop. Very happy for you and your wife. If interested, please let me know.
This is my dream man. Closest GOOD archery shop is 30 miles, not great during the season when you NEED something quick......next shop is 20mi but im not a fan as they pushed my wife away due to some inappropriate speak & gestures. Outside of that, shops are over an hour away and it gets worse from there. I'd LOVE to have Mathews, Hoyt, Elite, Prime, Darton & Bear on the shelves.
