This is great. Imagine if they did decide to axe Ken how different the show would be today, but why was he gonna be axed if Valerie's actress didnt decide to leave? Also what does it say at 21:45 "her death led to..."?

It said "Her death led to the end of the maisonette set as well". The 1960s version of the precinct basically. William Roache was going to be axed but saved as Janet wanted Valerie killed off. So with no reason to leave, Ken and in turn William stayed.
