I love this hymn so much, it's the truth of God's Word, it sooths my soul. God is Eternal Light, Jesus is the light in heaven which illuminate that glorious eternal city.
God is light, and in him their is no darkness at all. Jesus is also the light of this world, and the one who put their trust and faith in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are light on this earth.

Oh my God, why do "professional" organists ignore the fermata Kathleen purposefully wrote into the refrain of this hymn. Makes nonsense of a beautiful musical phrase.
Anthony, I'm Donald Mayer. First of all, the words are fantastic. Secondly, I love the sound of the organ. I am totally blind so I can't see the organ but it sounds awesome. Also, the words are beautiful. In addition, I heard this song for the first time on Songs In the Night and it was sung by Bert Kettinger. Just remember, everyone has their opinion. You and I just so happen to agree concerning this fine hymn. Have a great day.
Too much organ for such feeble singing. Sadly, organists get carried away when put in charge of a gigantic toy with batteries of powerful sound effects - it seems to be all or nothing.
