But I think your history my be a little sketchy ;-) re Orange river: The river was named the Orange River in honour of the Dutch ruling family, the House of Orange, by the Dutch explorer Robert Jacob Gordon. Personally, I think that's some colonial kak. We should call it the !Garib ('Gariep')
