There's something called discipline. Parents need to discipline their kids. Obviously this girl is wrong but it didn't just come from nothing, her parents are to blame as well because they didn't discipline her and allowed to become this awful human being. back in the day a big father's hand on the face would correct most if not all of this girl's misbehaving problems. She will never respect authority figures because her parents were never authority figures in her eyes. So yes, you can blame the parents, specially in cases like this, the kid can be blamed for everything after, but the first to be blamed needs to be the parents.
And now that she's 16 and is already like this, I doubt that she will change, and I believe that she will always find trouble in her life and will end up in jail many times. The parents have the duty to educate their children and make sure that they grow up and become helpful and respectful members of society.
So please don't be so lenient on her parents, they obviously fucked up big time.

The girl is responsible when she consistently makes wrong deliberate decisions, but its the result of the lack of Discipline. She is the result of an absentee Father. Could be several reasons he wasntbthere, but these are the living consequences of a parent doing it her own way abd trying to reach out to Dr. Phil for help doesn't do anything.

Do I fight with my mother from time to time? Yes, it’s natural. But I would *NEVER* put my hands on her. She was a single mother taking care of a hormonal 6th grader and a newborn with a low paying job, she’s incredible. That newborn baby is now me, and it’s just me and her now. I love her to pieces and just hearing the way that girl talks about her mother is heart wrenching.

My mother once tried to wake me up and I held her hand a little too tight to stop her. The glass bangles on her hand broke and her hand started bleeding. She didn't even flinch. I cried the entire day because I hurt her on accident. I still haven't forgiven myself for that.
