Dad commented that all of this practicing to improve balance while cross stepping will help your golf swing! Love the way you brought the family into it. Another great one, Bri!
Great video! and great ideas! I have tried cross stepping on a similar pvc pipe at home, but I put it on a yoga mat to slow it down. I also use the same pvc pipe with a piece of plywood as a balance board to practice balancing between front foot pressure and back foot pressure.
I’ve been really enjoying your videos! Keen to give these tips a try. Any chance some longboard sessions merch would be on the horizons? I would definitely rock a t-shirt out in the water on warmer days.
Didn't know you golf! if you ever end up at WB NC I'd love to play a round of golf. Also, I imagine cross stepping on a slackline would be similar to the PVC pipe. I will have to get to the park and that that idea.
Yes sir! Oh for sure... golf and surf trip... im down! I think the slackline would be a bit different, but possibly accomplish the same goal. I think doing both would be the way to go
You should use a slackline. It’ll really help with overall balance and working to slow things down. Forces you to breathe, look forward and focus. Makes a huge difference in the long run.
Great video! I think we can all relate to the spousal "eye roll". Lol! -- I'll give the pipe a try. ....Also, I built a "surf simulator" that I'd like to show you. Its pretty killer. How can I send you pics?
Looks like you have been thrown out of the house by your wife a number of times, good job wifee!!! Hey a great tip again I'm going to try that, maybe with the garden hose spraying water over me just to keep it real. I find with cross stepping is the answer to positioning yourself exactly where you need to for nose rides or just gliding, so this vid is excellent reference for training. Cross stepping is also a great way of pulling out of a wave (pulling out of a wave could be next vid??) you can cross step right back to the tail to pull the nose up and exit the wave facing the next wave.
Hi from Spain. I learn a lot with your videos. Congratulations for your channel. I want to ask you about your skate. How long is it? and which kind of trucks do you use? Thanks for all
Hi 👋, again great tips, starting on it, would like to see your improvement on the balance, not that you can’t do it 🤣 but how much better you are on it. Thanks 🙏 loving your videos, very helpful.
the pipe is REALLY hard. It's harder than cross stepping on a surfboard. But practicing will help build those muscles that will make cross stepping more effortless.. so stick with it
@@LongboardSessions yeah It definitely is so difficult but I'll stick at it, I don't get to surf as much as I'd like these days so got to keep the muscles going, absolutely love your videos dude, really insightful and easy to understand, helping me understand a lot for sure!
@@spazzymacgee5648 Oh thats great to hear! Yea it's especially important to practcie at home if you don't get to surf as much as you'd like. Which is probably all of us haha

Let's hope so haha! I need major help with both my cross stepping and my golf swing 😂. Love ya mom!
Just found your videos. So hard to find good longboard videos! I look forward to watching more! Keep up the great vids!
Thanks steven! Yea, not many people making longboard videos, that's for sure. Will do🤙

Thanks! Yea that's a great idea about the yoga mat and the plywood. I actually quite like using the pvc pipe on the green and a carpet.
@@LongboardSessions How long is your 2x4 and your pvc pipe? Is it 6-8 feet long?
hahaha! You're crazy!!! Good video! I use a indo board to practice and the Hamboard Logger that is just so fun to ride. Thanks for this video.
Thanks! That hamboard looks like a lot of fun
Great vid dude, really enjoyed it. Awesome idea with the pipe 😆👍
Thanks!! Yea so far it's been awesome!
Super high quality content here, my friend. Been really enjoying your videos as I begin my journey into long boarding.
Awesome thanks Patrick! Welcome to the club 🤙🤙
Hilarious with your wife finding the 2 by 4! I practice with a foam roller. It has texture so it doesn't roll as easy as a PVC pipe.
oh that works! might be a little safer as well haha
Hey mate,
This is gold!! Just starting the cross stepping chapter so this practicing technique is perfect.
Thanks heaps.
Awesome Darren, glad it can help! Spend the time on land to get the most out of your sessions 👍
Great, great , great job, thank you
Thanks Thomas!

Thanks so much! Yes, merch coming soon. Still working on a logo haha.... being too picky
Whoa - that looks hard! :-) But it looks like an excellent practice tip.
haha it is not easy!
its fun on a hamboard and a goof board as well! great alts when its flat. :)
Yes! I have neither, but I want both haha

Hi Brian great video! How long the 4inches pvc pipe has to be?
I suppose the longer the better, but atleast 4' i'd say!

I keep forgetting to set one of those up!! Once it starts warming up I’m totally going to try it

haha oh yes the eye roll is inevitable sometimes. OH sweet! Send it in a DM on instagram @longboard_sessions

Haha thanks ! Yes kicking out of a wave is something I’d like to make a video on… soon!
0:53 oh, no! No! 😂
This spells disaster
haha!!

Awesome Juan, thanks! To be honest, I have no idea. It's an old sector 9. I'd say it's around 3.5' long though
@@LongboardSessions Thanks!!
Dude is that a Huxley putting green?
No. It’s turf by XGrass that I installed myself. I used to have an artificial putting green business. That only lasted two years hehe
@@LongboardSessions respect…I think I am sensing a surf and turf episode coming up next🤷🏻♂️🤙

Thanks so much! Yea that pipe is awesome.. gotta make sure I keep using it every day haha!
Everyone should try slacklining imo!!!!!
Yes ! super fun and great for building strength
Love your videos! Would you please share where you surf a longboard in NJ/NY? Thank you!
Honestly, you can find a good wave anywhere in NJ. However, I surf central NJ (Monmouth county)
