Dear Diary, Today we practice our hunting skills and some of us tested it on mom. We must have done well, because she was a bit upset when we went after her legs and tail. A couple of us were practicing climbing a tree so we could get the kills of leopards like mom did. We took off to a new location. Mom said it was to get ready for a hunt later. Dad was going to join us after his nap. Time for a drink. Thanks so much for the compilation of this sighting and the perfect music to accompany it.

That little one jumping higher than its sibling would make a great poster. Crazy to think it's only a few months old and can already jump higher than its own body height. Thanks for the video, God bless

OK -- I know the focus is on those adorable, adorable cubbies -- but I've never seen a "dung beetle" in action before -- that is one of the most fascinating things ever -- as far as tail tugging -- on one of your videos, and I can't possibly remember which one -- we have this huge huge male lion who just wants to sleep it off, either after eating or being on patrol of his territory -- and he is attacked by little cubbies who only want to play with all the stuff dad brings to the table -- all that mane around his neck -- all the real estate to climb upon to play king of the mountain -- those big teeth and a snarl, which do absolutely no good -- but then one of them grabs ahold of dad's big tail -- dad raises up and snarls, which does nothing, and finally dad accepts defeat and plops back down hoping the little guy/girl will lose interest .... no chance -- thanks so much for posting these videos -- it's covd-19 here -- 7/7/2020 -- they help so much -- Cheers, Patricia
I’m nervous about Zodwa introducing her little cubs to the pride in a few weeks. The cubs in this video are much bigger and quite rambunctious. I hope she gives them adequate time to grow.
@@darleneburwood6884 As far as I know, no one really knows what happened after around Dec 3rd. We can speculate illness, maybe a predator or another possibility is that was the same time when the Mhangeni male was chased off the pride. The cub could have got caught in the middle and was severely injured and succumbed to those injuries as a result. No one knows for sure, but we have 12 healthy cubs now.

Do you mean the siting, a couple years, or so, ago, with the pride in the road? I don't remember who the mother was. There was a very tiny cub being carried by one of the lionesses. When she let it down, a couple bigger cubs played with it, it would fall over at the slightest tap. Then, the pride walked into the dense brush n the side of the rod. and cub stayed behind. We were all worried, hoping it would take the same path that the pride just made. Would they abandon the cub? Would it end up following the pride? I think a lioness went back and got it. That was the last time the cub was seen. The mother introduced to the pride when it was waaay too young. The chances of a cub that young and no longer in a den, were very, very slim. Sad.
@@jennifersherman7052 yup, that's Amber Eyes. Shw treated that cub like she wanted it to die. She was probably too young and felt overwhelmed so she kinda emotionally abandoned that cub and let nature eliminate it
Jennifer Sherman I saw the aftermath that was filmed from another vehicle on NGW. Shortly after drive the bigger cubs started playing again and the little one unfortunately died.

They don't work and since they're on captivity they don't even have to hunt...but all in all mother lionesses are good mommas

I feel the same ... so nervous, I try not to think about it. :(
When did they lose a cub? A month ago there was nine but I noted one of the cubs did not look good and two weeks after that they were down to eight.
