When the blue division went to fight against red russian army they were always listening to russians soldiers singing Katiuska.
So they use that Melody to make up her own song.
Spanish were very good singers at that age.

Pésima adaptación en música y letra, de la magnífica canción popular rusa, KATIUSKA, que es un canto a la vida, en tiempo de separación, amoroso y poético. ¿Y qué ha hecho de la maravillosa Katiuska esta partida de aventureros? No sé ni cómo definirlo, lo cierto es que viendo la foto se siente vergüenza ajena. Por lo visto salieron de España para dar la nota: Desaliñados, indisciplinados y vulgares. Y luego esa manera de cantar... Yo estoy harto de escuchar canciones regionales que suenan de maravilla, pero eso que cantan ahí, la música (deforme) y la letra, no pegan ni con cola.
