I love my little spool gun, did have to modify my viper 182 mk1 to use it, and the trigger sticks on occasionally, but the push pull looks interesting too.
No comparison! A push-pull gun fixes 90% of what’s wrong with every spool gun I’ve ever used. Feeding issues and the bulk of the spool gun and you’re not running out of wire every time you turn around. Most spool guns, that I’ve used, won’t pull the last 25% of the wire off the spool, especially when using 5356.
I went through 6 spools guns because the motors kept getting fatigued and kept having wire feed issues. Finally got tired of it and now getting a mk python push pull gun that will be here today.
When would you just go with a 3m lead on a high quality setup using ~1.0mm wire? To me a lot of the issues are with machine placements and lead orientation.
Which MIG gun do you prefer? Spool or Push-Pull?
Push pull for days.
Thanks alot 😭 I'm too cheap

Why don't they pull the last 25%? (I'm just started the trade)

The difference between a spool gun and push- pull gun is about $1000.00.

@unimig does the unimig 360amp push pull gun “plug and play” into the new unimig 200pulse mig welder?
