- I appreciate you all for watching this video and hope you support my decision. Any updates I have will be posted below up to 1 year after!
-FYI the ears will continue to move closer to my head for up to 1 year after the surgery, therefore I might not need to have anything done in March if that happens enough. I will post about that right here when it happens. UPDATE i did get my left ear touched up because it didnt go back enough to my liking so now it is closer to my head
-As for the bandage I had on, it did cause me to break out a little on my forehead only because it was covered for 2 days but it was temporary.
-When I started to clean my ears, I had to use baby shampoo for that and my hair to prevent infections for 3 weeks or so and also began to use scar cream 2x a day to aid the incision in disappearing.

Rice if your ears stick out then try otostick you can get them on eBay and they are really good

This is the part that FREAKS me OUT!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
normally they will put you to sleep by needle kind of like a blood test thing and honestly you just pass right out so by the time you wake up you wont even remember how it happened like there is no one to resist it so this way you don't feel anything at all
Congratulations, random guy here i had one ear surgery the left ear mass removal in pain, surgeons did good on your ears, i hope my ear goes back into place bc it sticks out foward, makes it uneven with my other ear stitches gotta be removed in 8 days, great luck so long now

Thank you! Everyone else I've watched has had it done local, something I am not remotely interested in doing. By no means rich, BUT yeah I think i will save up just a little bit longer for general.

thank you! and for the sleeping part ive had that done for another surgery when i broke my elbow and they put the needle in my inside elbow where you would get blood work and for this they put it in my hand, either way i was terrified because needles scare me so much but since it is so quick you will be fine. once they put it in you you wont remember anything after that because you fall asleep very quickly. with anesthesia it is impossible to stay up that is the point of it, making the surgery painless for you. hope that helped!

Thank you for the video, its great what you did. I just wanted know if you feel any pain after the anesthesia? i mean, do you feel the cut ? Does it hurt ? Were you on pain killers after the surgery ? if yes, for how long ? Me too i want to go for an otoplasty, but im kinda freaking out. I saw a video of the surgery and it looks pretty serious
you don't feel anything during the surgery that is why you are on anesthesia so you wont even remember anything. i was on pain killers after for the pain but my doctor only had me take them for a few days and then i just continued taking advil. I wouldn't worry about what you've seen for the surgery because you don't experience any of that since you are passed out it was a very easy surgery to go through but the post surgery is what is most important to ensure everything is want you wanted!
You looked pretty both pre & post surgery to me...When I was younger,I actually wished for more protruding ears...You're still brave for sharing your experience,it'a probably helpful for some too.All the best.🦋🌺
What kind of Psychopath you have to be to want more protrouding ears? You americans are sick beyond repair.. do you also want bigger nose or smaller breasts? You get the picture.. or not, perhaps

Julia .Waldron good luck girl! i’m sure everything will go perfectly. it does hurt but you have medication to help with that but it was mainly uncomfortable for the first 3 days and then it gets better!

Hey there, I just got otoplasty 2 days back and didnt share this to anyone not even my family. drove back to home just after treatment by myself. and on 2nd day visit my doctor for dressing change and saw my self in mirror, it was terrifying to see so much different with swelling. I hope it will look okay after stitches removal.

Do you know when I can blow dry my hair after the surgery? I know u posted this video a while ago but I hope u can respond
im not sure, i would ask your doctor! i dont blow dry my hair often but when i did i know i waited a while because i was afraid to put anything near my ears!
What kind of anesthesia did they give to u local or general?
I just had this done on Monday and recovery is not fun! Thank you for sharing this! The weirdest thing for me is my ears being numb, how long did that last for you? And when did the swelling start to go down? I know it'll be worth it in the end but right now it sucks
tbh i don't remember how long exactly because the feeling gradually comes back but it is the last thing that will happen so i would give it a month or maybe a little more but you will get used to it and not realize they aren't numb anymore. as for the swelling that takes months but majority of it happens by your 3 month checkup so although your ears may not be red anymore they are still swollen for a while after and will continue to go down, i am at 6 months now after and i was told this is the time when they will stop pushing back on their own. hope that helps!
How did it effect your ears by them taking cartridge from the ears, does it push it in a lot?

Im looking to get it done this year for sure.. my only worrying is my work colleagues finding out. With swelling and brusing..i can only take 2 weeks off work. Is it noticeable?
i had the surgery yesterday and it's nothing like yours i have like 5/6 stitshes in each ear it's so painful , i wonder how long will it take to get rid of the thing that is holding my ears back it's like really tight and it hurts
huh i wonder what your doctor did? i had stitches also and mine were painful but that was why i was taking pain medication until they got removed

I’m afraid to just get one ear surgery done all my life it was my ear sticking out that’s why I always had my hair down my other ears perfectly fine they said they’re just going to numb my ear and I have to be awake

Why was the scar inside your ear, did you have concha bowl reduced ? Did you have antihelix altered at all ?
there was an incision made inside my ear also when he did the surgery
So I have my surgery August 7th, and I have the bandage on until the 13th! And then I move into college on the 14th🤣

If you guys want to go on otoplasty go to Czech republic its going to be much cheaper, originally I wanted to go on otoplasty to the UK but I would have to pay 2000-2500pounds here in Czech I paid just 600.

@c_ait well i am originally from czech republic but i live in the uk so i stayed in my parents house but mate hotels in czech are cheap and same goes for flights tickets if i can recommend you clinic the name is cleopatra clinic and it is based in OSTRAVA.
even if you would have to pay for hotel and everything it doesn't even come close to £ 2,500

i had undergone otoplasty surgery 25 days ago .. my both ears were very prominent before.. today is 25th day after opration but I still feel tightness in ears .. is it due to swelling ? for how long (how many months ) this feeling of tightness and swelling over ears persist ? ..
and does ear appearance changes after swelling completely gone.. when I will be able to see final and permanent result of my otoplasty surgery ?

ranges depending on the doctor but it is pricey i would recommend looking at the average cost online

they recommend using scar cream however i stopped after a little while so it all didnt go away but i definitely do not notice it nor does anyone else so i would definitely use it!

nope! everything is covered up to a year after for my post ops and stuff but im not disappointed bc it will allow me to get the best results and its nothing major so he can do it right in the office

@@kristenk708 he did do it all at once but nothing is ever exact and we realized that the one ear was considerably further out than the other still which is why i decided i wanted him to do that one again and make it closer to my head

yeah it did because they are reconstructing your ear but i was on painkillers to help and i didnt really move for a few days

Justin Layug i had general so i was sleeping! and when i woke up it was painful however i was on medication to help. it does take a little to gain the feeling back in your ears though as they are numb for a while
This is a v old video so I’m not sure you’ll see this comment but after you got the surgery how bad was the pain?
it was painful but honestly it was more so uncomfortable the first days because of the limitations of wearing the head wrap. the pain medication helped alleviate some of the pain but it was all worth it in the end. that’s coming from someone who hates any sort of pain i promise!

Hey I had my otoplasty this past Friday and I got my bandages taken off this Monday and my right ear sticks out just a little bit more than my left ear do you think I'm gonna be fine and its gonna go back or is it gonna stay like that?
it should go back a little more typically they are swollen and moving back for months but if not you can get it fixed like I did when my doctor wasn't satisfied

I got my ears done at age 50. I paid $1500 Because I had it done by a resident doctor in their 4th year. It was done at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and it was done under general anesthesia in the office. My ears did pop out but not as before. I wanna get a revision done but I lost my older brother in January. He past away at Northwestern Hospital so I really don't want to see that Hospital right now.
My ears are the same size as yours and I really want surgery! How did you convince your parents to let you do it? My future career requires me to have my hair up everyday, and I’m super insecure I never wear my hair up, without a headband covering my ears
Megan Manuel my parents knew i wanted this done for ears because it was a huge concern of mine. i would express how much it means to you and how it can greatly affect your confidence if you haven’t gotten it done yet :)

M S08 it depends what number you want, I prefer tapers but if you like fade haircuts then go from a 0-your choice if you have a lot of hair or 1-your choice if you have thin hair.
707 S it take months! i would stay consistent with using scar cream which was something i unfortunately was not good at
Hello ma'am can I ask you something? Im also going through this problem and I just know few month ago that there is otoplasty surgery I want to do that but I'm scared about the effect of it. Does it have side effect??? Like I heard from some one it causes cancer e.t.c !! Plz tell me is it safe ??
i have never heard of any side effects like that from my research! it has been a few years now and i am very happy with the results so I highly recommend if you are thinking about it and are able to move forward with the procedure

I just got the surgery a few days ago (4) and I’m in so much pain, the pain killers don’t do anything!
Anyways I went for dressing and I have to get the stitches tightened so I’m scared since last time it was so painful
i know the pain sucks trust me i went through the same thing and didnt move for 3 days! then i got one of them touched up and wasnt even put to sleep so that hurt so much more after the fact. just try to push through and if its painful again i would go back to your doctor and tell them it isnt strong enough because i had to do that

i had to use baby shampoo and be very careful so that i was gentle around the area but you can't wash it till that first bandage is taken off around 48 hours after

it is scary to get any surgery but it will be worth it in the end. thankfully they put you to sleep so that is what made me feel better!
