That is so impressive. I'm honestly against a live adaptation, but if they absolutely have to try to squeeze money out of the franchise and make it live action, I definitely think this guy should be a front runner since Keanu Reeves is off the table.
The actor resembles Spike, especially facial structure is very similar to his face, and the voice is also similar to Steve Blum's. It was a worthwhile watch indeed.
I don't think anyone could represent Spike and his character. He can do his body language, I'll tell you that. Yet there's Steve Blum's raspy voice, the sadness in Spike's eyes, and his iconic hair... It's hard, if not impossible, to copy into a live action version, and it was not copied here. Kevin did a good job, and is talented, I'll give him that. But nobody can truly capture Spike's look or aura about him. He is a cartoon character; you can't recreate that.
No I don't agree the aura is captured pretty decently here. Spike is a character born of the men with no name of the westerns and existentialist European heroes it's pretty is to emulate both these elements. And hair does not make a man infact spike's hair will pretty bad and emo in real life so it's better if they change that
well the spike appearance is there his voice is great too, the way he delivers the line is good but you can't see the sadness behind the eyes tho, as an actor he should take spike's suffering and make it as his own so he could share part of that pain into the audience. if he works more on that then he will be really good. spike is a bit quirky but when delivering serious lines he can make you feel it inside you.
@@anirjeetbagchi7183 if we are going for an exact copy, it will never be good, look at watchmen the movie. Snyder tried to copy it and it ended up being a shell of the comic book.
@@maximilian6830 well to be very honest we don't need another bebop remake... I'm against the whole thing at the first place .. some things are meant for staying uncopied forever... but since thats not gonna happen, at least i wish to see it with natural acting with good musics... not superhero mimicing heroic acting with wasted attitude... Ain't talking about this guy... but if it's Bebop, hell I'm damn skeptical untill I watch it myself...
this anime is pretty close to my chest... It's just can't see it getting ruined... probably that won't happen, but as I said, I'm skeptical untill i watch the whole thing myself...
This guy has eyes like Spike! This guy looks like Spike! He needs to improve on delivering the emotions more like *pain suffered by Spike* so that it would be convincing to the audience that this guy is really Spike! If he did, I think this guy would be a great Spike Spiegel! 😁
I found this page from the snape film recommendations, I was going to follow then but decided to see what this chnl was all about.., Now I see this...I have no doubts there is greatness here haha Bebop will always be my favourite animation till my death. Its an absolute shame what they did to the live action...sogh..now we will never get another chance at a great live action ;_;
I'm a little iffy on this... Many things he nailed, some not so much. Spike is such an intricate character, and I honestly don't know if it's truly possible to play him right. However, Kevin did Spike some justice in this tape. His posture and body language- for example, the way he smokes- and his tone of voice were pretty spot on. He does have somewhat of a Spike-ish look to him, though I will say the hair needs work (considering this is just an unofficial tape, I'll give him a pass on that) as well as the sadness in his eyes. Spike's melancholy overtone is so essential to his character and aura, and Kevin does not have it here. Overall with the looks, I'm in the middle. I firmly believe that no one can deliver Spiegel's lines like Steve Blum in Cowboy Bebop's English dub, on the other hand, Kevin does fairly well. Like I mentioned before, the deepness is his voice works quite nicely. I think Kevin's voice is one of the best things about this tape; it really works for me. The "Nowhere Man" reading stood out to me, especially because that monologue is from the Cowboy Bebop manga and not the anime, a good way to mix things up. I feel like being critical of who is cast for this live action adaptation of a television classic is very important, hence why I've taken so much time to analyze Kevin Allen's performance. If he is considered for the role of Spike and possibly put into the production, I believe he would do great. I would not be unhappy with the casting choice. Some things need some work and fleshing out, though if Kevin were given the opportunity, I'm sure he would really step up his game and do a solid job. I do hope he is taken into consideration, though at the end of the day, a live action Cowboy Bebop is a sickening idea. Here's to hoping.
I actually much liked the more grounded look on the hair but everyone’s got different interpretations on what it should be like I guess we know now what Netflix thinks it should be lol
How to watch this perfectly: 0.5 speed. Pause the video a few secundaria between lines to make it feel like a Stanley cubrick scene Normal speed for the nowhere man cover Enjoy
BRAVISSIMO, mio pisano. Bebop is required viewing once a year. Would pay to see live action...with this gentleman at the wheel. Question...can he do the martial arts required of a Spike stand in?
I really like it. There does seem to be a little something holding me back though. Some missing underlying affectation but I can't put my finger on it. Visually perfect though, I hope you get a chance to play Spike especially since you seem to proactively want to be Spike.
Hollywood you've made some anime to live action shit but this this can not fail I'll give you you're cast even and what the first movie should be, alright so I feel as though the first movie will go all the way to episode 13 then 14 through 26 Cast: Kevin Allen: spike spiegel Bruce Willis : Jet Constance Wu: Faye valentine Elsie Fisher: Ed
He does good on the voice (maybe a bit deeper) the hair could use some work (need some bangs), but the main problem is that I feel he puts too much seriousness in part of the speech. Spike doesn’t show that much emotion.
Great voice really spot on and great delivery, even got the look down but the hair needs work you got to go bigger - his hair is wider than it is tall, almost twice as wide as it is tall...but anyway great work
Not bad but... This actor seems that he's about to smile, while the real Spike seems always upset and sad when he's talking about his past or saying something seriously
Unknown Human real off. I’m Greek and I’ll tell u something interesting. Met an Ethiopian Jew that was actually him. Unbelievable. Ethiopians have Greek faces but just a bit dark and taller, and their hair is shiny curly Afro and sharp
Dear God this is so chringy. This only demonstrates how utterly stupid Netflix's live action remake will be... Anime doesn't translate to live action. Just let Cowboy Bebop be.

Best Spike
most convincing Spike I've seen yet

Yasss. That would be perfect😍😍
Kevin Allen in Cowboy Bebop, directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Watching the dub of cowboy bebop right now. 10/10
This is the most accurate representation of Spike I've ever seen
Great. Maybe a little more deeper on the voice and give it that Steve Blum style
