My Favorite Becker! $56 on Amazon, 1 of only 2 Beckers with a choil, tape wrap the grivory and you are left with one cool slicer that's superlight in the hand but still chops and battons with the best of 'em! Cheers. BB More of a Trailing edge/point than a clip point.
It was designed to slice not to chop! It's a superb slicer, I took one with me to Brazil and it performed flawlessly! I have 3 of them, that's how much I love them!
G'day Tac, Another outstanding vid. Mate, the BK5 is meant as a 'camp' knife. Does a little bit of everything but not too well. It is meant, primarily, to do large scale food and meat prep. I've used one for yonks as a slicer, dicer and big time skinner of 'roos and buffs. Chops the hell out of large vegies and meat for the pot. It's lighter to carry than my other BKs and, if needed, would make a formidable defense tool. They are much cheaper than the price point you mentioned even down here in Aussie where the dollar sucks. Thanks again for the vid. Cheers, BH
Just picked one up for 50 bucks on Amazon. Going to rock some TKC blue/blk G10 scales and give this to my wife. She'll cut spuds for breakfast in the morning and hack for firewood in the afternoon. Good comedic review. Thanks for not boring the shit out of me like some other youtube channels. ..they freaking talk TOO much and put me to sleep.
I love this knife. One of my favorites. Today I am going test my 2nd Cold Steel War Hammer on my neighbors broken Geo Metro. Would love a review on this hammer.
Yo Tac! Love your vids! Humor mixed with truth. I had a BK5 for a while, it's more of a field scalpel than a survival knife. Mine was razor sharp and straight as an arrow, so yours was probably a QC problem. It would make for a good game processing knife or used as a self-defense knife. Anyway, keep on rocking man!!
I have been on the fence about a bk blade my biggest gripe was the handle.I like micarta so I am not thinking on buying the blade.Good review always appreciate your point of view.
hi tac from the UK not the best knife I've seen you test but still a decent blade ,I myself have just received the bk9 absolutely awesome blade , excellent video as always
I get what you are saying but I love mine. I have pruned my back yard, cleaned fish, wood processed, carved meat. I'm a cook and the saber like shape is familiar to me. Its like having a kitchen\survival knife...to each his own philosophy of use blah blah blah. I like both of your guys channels. Special thanks to Tac for getting me into convex edges.
Overall I enjoy your vids, same as this vid. BK 5 is a fighter / camp kitchen knife. (Which is also useful) Just because it doesn’t process firewood like a BK7 doesn’t make it a bad design. But agreed.. NOT a 1-tool option for the woods. Agree w Chris try the G10
Tac, just have to ask, what do you tote for an edc, or like what style man, I live in Titusville Fl or Titsville lol if ya hit parking lots 11 thru 13, out at our beach, I go between fixed an flippers. But watching you guys like Chris from PM101 an the DBK boys, I have gotten to just about carry a fixed blade up to about 10", but honestly like something in the 7.5" to 8.5" for an Edc. An of course I don't rock a collection like you but have went alittle old school with a Charter Arms 44Sp. Thanks for your vids enjoy them. Watch them damn zombies in your neck of the woods!
So, I'm looking for my husband a good hunting knife. Something that can be used tactically as well as a good hunting knife. Blade sharpness and retention are high priority. Blade around 4.5 inches. Don't want anything larger. I've been looking at the Jaktkit KNV2. But before committing fully, I just wanted opinions!
Tops and Shrade sheats suck even more,I mean for beeing a general sheat type who suck.it suck less then the other sucker's.The nylon is thicker and it's better stiched,I think if you know what I mean.Is it really discontinued? I have wanted this knife for a long time, better bay I pretty soon then I see.nice vid as allways Tac.
For the sharpness testing, i suggest you check out the channel "douchebag survival", he shows how to safely widdle a stick using chest compressions. stay safe tac
Say Heah Tac't , I just wish they left the spine wider, It's one of my Fav's, and I teamed it with my BK-15 and sometimes my BK-4, Happy Holidays. ,, .
TRDouble9 for Security Purposes uh why? he doesnt have a grading system, its all dependent on how it performs. this isnt like gideonstactical u know and its obvious.
Whether it performs! Its always good to have a comparison or a base blade to compare it to, but u cant hav eone for each knife. Knives will act and perform differently thats why its personal preference. Those grading scakes are useless for things like this. Judge it on how it performs not what it is. If u dont get past that youll never understand knives
I completely understand, and, would not disagree with you. Now, this bring me back to original question. Why would you get a blade a number from 1 through 10? What features or gimmick, that guarantee this blade a "10"? That what I am ask. Because, I do not have any experiences with knife handling. And, this question get me more insight, than what know.
That doesn't work that way. On the sxb the saw does work for notching but on the tracker its more or less useless. that doesn't mean the sxb will have the same number as the tracker. Or the blade shape if u have 2 bolos, one a tramontina, the other a fox macio. They're 2 totally different things u cant grade them that way.
I think it is a good blade design but not for Bushcraft or things of that nature it to me is a strictly designed for combat/fighting knife because of it's light weight and slicing shaped blade it would be ideal for deployment now that being said I wish they would have not added the bk style handle it is way to bully and not appropriate for that style of blade I would like to see it done up like a cold steel rubberized handle from say the oss but not a rubber finger guard a stainless steel polished bolsters where your finger goes to help hold a solid grip with that smaller and much more ergonomic handle this would be a fighting knife to be proud of
Say Heah Tac'ie My People. Yeah, I got my (3) BK-5. Yeah, I had one before I ordered my First Limited Edition, Yeah, the BK-20 Bundok came with the BK4 and the BK-5, Now I just ordered my Second Limited Edition, The BK-29 again came with another BK-5, makining it (3) for me. But this L.E. came with the BK-29 Moses this time, It was drained by Mr. Moses a in-house knife designer for K-Bar, Its a 10.725" blade and a 1/44" massive in the 1095 CroVan, its a 1" shorter than my BK-20 Bundok, but with a stronger tip. As far as the BK-5 Yeah, For me, I think it works as good as my BK-5 and its lighter, and has a choils. But as far as steel, The C.S. Carving is the same as the 1095 CroVan with their proprietary tempering the Zero Quench, that's why I almost have all of the Beckers.,,.
Stick and move Tac hahaha! Nice vid bro, keep those haters at bay with STFU move awwww yeah! Just noticed I'm number 151 on the like button , lucky booze number, time for a shot! Stay safe and wrap that root people!
Bruh! I don't get the hate of this knife Clearly it's a slicing knife Not a heavy duty chopping knife, you can tell what it was made for by its design It will be badass having this and the bk 7 both in back like a badass ninja Best for special kind of tasking. Overall I would buy this, fuck it! Time to go to amazon for this.
It's surprising to me that a higher end knife company still puts out crap grip scales everyone puts ranger bands on them or changes them. almost a hundred dollars for a knife that you buy knowing what you are getting isn't going to be very good out of the box and kabar doesn't get the hint that it's time to update the handle material. Regardless thanks TAC.
jon jon They definitely should do a mass production. You can still find them but the prices seem to be rising precipitously. I suppose I could lend Tac mine.
Say Heah Tac't, Yup, It's one of my Fav. BK's. Infact I have (2), I bought one to complete my BK collection, Because I like the 1095 CroVan, Once I found out it's the same as the older C. S. CarbonV, 's steel, I got my info from zknives.com, !!! "I think it's as good as my BK-7" !!! , and I teamed mine with my BK-15, MYy second one I got was when I bought my Limited Edition BK-20, BK-4, and the BK-5 all for $250.00 I was the last one to order my Limited Edition, I almost didn't buy it, I was going to wait until it came down in price, Boy was I lucky. ,, .
Say Heah Tac't, That's Bullsh*t, That Gregory is scratchy, Check the video where the guy greased his hand up and stabbed a tree and NO SLIPPAGE !!!, Sure the Micarta is a upgrade, But Gregory Rock !!! Infact, Alot of very good knives use the Gregory. Like one I'm going to get soon, a Benchmade Proteganist, Kewl Beanz Type of Knife.
Me Bad, But it was my spell check, Thanx You for bringing it to my attention. I corrected it, It should of read It's Discontinued instead of disconnected, Thanx, Pal, and sorry about that.
Yo Tac. PM me your address. I have a present for you. Its a kinda crappy, but large blade that I think you would have fun with. I would love to see you thrash it!!
Tac: first love your style brother! You're straight to the point. No flash. Second...I don't own a BK5, but I'd bet 500 bucks to a damn donut that the original ones made by Camillus were heavier than the kbar. Still love this though. I think I'd be good in the kitchen too if you stripped off the epoxy and did a "Jessica" style finish on one. A great all rounder like the good old Marine Kbar!
My Favorite Becker!

Use it for food prep. Its a killer slicer. Good general purpose camp knife. Paired with an axe or BK9 for a choppa
G'day Tac,

Bill Halliwell They're awesome priced in Australia man. I need a backup haha
This is a camp knife for food prep and light wood work. Love it!
Jerry Fisk gave this knife a hearty thumbs up.
I'll take his word for it.

This one actually looks better than other beckers IMO. Like a miniature katana almost.
I love this knife. One of my favorites. Today I am going test my 2nd Cold Steel War Hammer on my neighbors broken Geo Metro. Would love a review on this hammer.

Great new introduction bud.. And solid knife
Best intro with perfect music Tac!
I have been on the fence about a bk blade my biggest gripe was the handle.I like micarta so I am not thinking on buying the blade.Good review always appreciate your point of view.
hi tac from the UK not the best knife I've seen you test but still a decent blade ,I myself have just received the bk9 absolutely awesome blade , excellent video as always
you'd like the-knife-connection's G10 Becker handles.
Never cared for the BK5. BK7 and BK9 are the way to go.
PREPAREDMIND101 i always thought the 5 looked goofy like a kitchen knife
since you got your shrade money now tacs getting his kabar money.. you guys should goto the bar.. youtube millionares lmao..
PREPAREDMIND101 from Hawaii aloha brotha chris awesome shows but tac is showing you up on the knives bro

Tac, can you tell me, what oil do you use, to protect your knifes from rust.
dude , u should be a standup comidian.
Tac, just have to ask, what do you tote for an edc, or like what style man, I live in Titusville Fl or Titsville lol if ya hit parking lots 11 thru 13, out at our beach, I go between fixed an flippers. I got this as gift and glad I did its a great knife. after that I went bought BK15
I’d pair this slicer with a heavy woods blade(BK9).
Good review but ka. Bar cs sucks . Had a problem with my knife they said since the paint was off It. Void the warranty .
It's made for slicing you know.
So, I'm looking for my husband a good hunting knife. Something that can be used tactically as well as a good hunting knife. Blade sharpness and retention are high priority. Blade around 4.5 inches. Black Jack Tac ops 4 is a good one
Tactical which do you think is the better one?
the BJ is cheaper & I like it alittle bit better but the knv2 is a nice knife
Sweet blade my brotha TAC! shit, I might get one of those of I can find one. thank you for the video!
Finally You made the test of this one ☺ thanks a lot
This thing is great for food-prep
Nice review vid as I dig the knife....Good stuff...
I like the blade shape of this knife, but the spine looks weak, like it would snap with enough pressure. Plus, 11oz is too light for me.
Looks like what Roosevelt would have cut his bison meat with
This is my favorite Becker!
tac rules!!!!! love your reviews.
Iv always wondered what's up with the face mask?
Great review and testing bro!

Will u continue the zombie apacalypse vids?
Tact, question. Can you make video on your grading system? Great video!
TRDouble9 for Security Purposes uh why? he doesnt have a grading system, its all dependent on how it performs. this isnt like gideonstactical u know and its obvious.

Great Review
Hey Tac i would love to see your review of Kabar Combat Machete , Cheers Brother...
Tac you intrested in selling the bk5?
I think it is a good blade design but not for Bushcraft or things of that nature it to me is a strictly designed for combat/fighting knife because of it's light weight and slicing shaped blade it would be ideal for deployment now that being said I wish they would have not added the bk style handle it is way to bully and not appropriate for that style of blade I would like to see it done up like a cold steel rubberized handle from say the oss but not a rubber finger guard a stainless steel polished bolsters where your finger goes to help hold a solid grip with that smaller and much more ergonomic handle this would be a fighting knife to be proud of

Review the Ka-Bar Swabie
Bruh! I don't get the hate of this knife
Clearly it's a slicing knife
Not a heavy duty chopping knife, you can tell what it was made for by its design
It will be badass having this and the bk 7 both in back like a badass ninja
Best for special kind of tasking. Overall I would buy this, fuck it! Time to go to amazon for this.

Brother, you really need to test the BK-20 Bundok Bowie. Think BK-9 on steroids!
I believe it was a limited edition, which sucks because that thing look freakin awesome! wish they would mass produce it
jon jon They definitely should do a mass production. You can still find them but the prices seem to be rising precipitously. I suppose I could lend Tac mine.

Dude...whittling your stick on camera? Just sayin....... ;-)
Good review....except for the ridiculous commentary
bad steel ... poor ergonomic of the handle.
A great all rounder like the good old Marine Kbar!
can you still get the micarta scales?
