Just found your channel. I’ve been interested to do the Boreal Trail whenever I visit my family in Canada, so thanks for making a bit on it! Don’t you love coyotes 😂
It actually turned out that it was all the mud that smelled terrible... Once we strained all the critters out of the water and ran it through the Sawyer, it was actually not too bad! Still boiled the shit out of it tho, just in case! 😆😆
Thank you for your videos!! Can I ask, did you have to prebook your campsites (like you do for a national park backcountry trail) or did you just show up and pay when got there? I’m planning to do this trail this summer and can’t find good information on whether it’s something we need to aquire permits ahead of time for or not! Thanks!
There is a fee that is supposed to be paid to the park (based on the # of nights you're hiking the trail). The lodge we stayed at was supposed to handle this for us, but it turns out they never gave the park our payment. I believe if you're going to stay in one of the few front country campgrounds, then youll need to reserve a site, but not the back country sites. We did it in October and all the camp grounds were closed anyways (except apparently the Matheson CG, which was open with no services.
Hi Greg, this was a fun hike! Thanks for letting me tag along! 🫶 5:55 I wish we captured that moment on camera! Never laughed so hard in my life 😂😂
That was really need. I might have to put this on my list. I great up in Alberta and there's nothing like a boreal forest to make me feel homesick.
