I went into a petstore today to look for a new cage for my two budgies. And I was so happily surprised to find that instead of the smaller store cages they have for the birds they are selling they had installed a big aviary in the store. The birds had plenty of space to fly around and they were so happy.

Your videos have helped me so much and appreciate the value in your teachings. I volunteer for a rescue in British Columbia and have the opportunity of working with both the big birds and the little birds. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Just a reminder since the weather is super hot in a lot of states still. a lot of sunscreens are filled with zinc and is very toxic for our bird friends.

Hi there BirdTricks I've got quite an urgent question I need to ask you, so I've got two lovely budgies tsunami and Sugar I bought them both at the age of 4 months at a pet shop ( which Isn't normally the best option when getting a bird) I've had them for over a year now BUT the only problem is they are not tame. They both won't fly to your finger, they won't go onto your finger without bringing out millet spray, they haven't even allowed us to pet them yet 🫤
They would've been able to do most of this stuff if I was consistent with their training and made an effort so this is all mostly my fault. First of all I shouldn't have bought two at the same time which is problem number two. I want to train them separately so that they won't get distracted, but that's the problem they both have been together for a year now never separating and always following eachother, and once I actually tried leaving the one in the cage (for one on one training) while the other bird flew and the one left in the cage you could tell just looked a little stressed and wanted to be with the other bird.
I can't really train them together because that would be very difficult and they could get very distracted with one another 😕
I'm really struggling at the moment and would really like some advice.

I got two previous breeder green cheeks who were completely untrained and becthey were used for breeding they were fully bonded and couldn’t be separated. I would let them out together but only focused on the one that was more curious. After he would be interested in the stick to touch then the other more fearful would eventually come forward. Then I would use the stick for them to be close to my hand (again only focusing on the brave one). Then use to stick to get on finger.
All this only works well though if they are on good diet. If not the treat has no value.
