A neat touch of the truck game is you can tune the onboard radio and it will stream internet stations for the location you are driving through. a brilliant touch of realism. There are bus simulators where you drive the same route around and around and around. Very popular.
Oh yeah, I started looking into how to do that then gave up after one episode. Thanks for reminding me. I'll look into it this weekend. What precisely defines a podcast - does it just have to be a load of audio files linked to an RSS?
+Sally Le Page that's pretty much it. Most just say it's a recorded radio or audio show. I love listening to podcasts on my long commute. This definitely would work great as one. Also it helps the audience to just have it in the background while driving or doing chores, for those who can't exactly watch a 30+ video. iTunes Podcast and soundcloud are the most commonly used platforms and are easy to use for the audience and creator. Would love to see this become a podcast!
+Kram1032 true, but the benefit of putting it on a podcast platform is that it would be downloadable, making it possible to listen to when there's no internet connection
certainly, yeah. You can also preload youtube videos but it's not quite as flexible and all those 24-60 images a second aren't exactly cheap to keep around if you only are there for the sound
I found Vanessa via VSauce and as well via, Jake. I found your videos Sally, via Tom Scott. Was very impressed with the stand in video, popped over here and ended up subscribing.
Ahh... two of my favourite presenters sat on the same (almost) sofa. What a treat! Nessy certainly provides a comprehensive answer. So much so, that you hit the recording limit 😃 ... good work guys!
Her description of University is the standard model in the US. You get to take whatever elective you want and can even take minors or a double major in a completely unrelated field. More focused and strict study is done in trade schools and generally seen as inferior to a full degree.
What? Why? The boredom project offered more than just 5 dollars? It offered peanut butter and shrooms? With a shroom tea? Because, peanut butter with liberty caps is really dry and you definitely need something to wash it with. So, why not keep shrooming?
Hi, I am new to your channel. I loved your interview with Vanessa. It was very fascinating and riveting to follow her path - as she talked about how she got here. I have to check out her channel also. Like 263.
I know this isn't related to science, but I stumbled across your channel from Rooster Teeth's podcast and you spoke about Brexit days prior to the vote? Could you make a video with your thoughts on the matter now that Britain has indeed left the EU? Thanks Sally! :)
Please tell me you are familiar with Bioviva!!! They have successfully used gene therapy to lengthen telomeres and reverse cell age! Also what are your thoughts on nootropics? I am a firm believer since I tried modafinil and practically aced my exams because I could study for 8 hours straight.
@shedscience / +shedscience / #shedscience I saw a video about Invasive species where you were portrayed and looked at some of your videos and noticed you were all for science, evolution and similar topics. I was wondering, what is your opinion on creating a Pandora's box for the sake of exploring and understanding the concept behind said mythological word? A simple example would be to establish an island, perhaps burying an retired oil platform somewhere by the coast and built up a land mass on it. And only once you've placed the land mass securely on the island can the experiment begin in different phases. First phase; Supplying various Bacteria from all over the world that is commonly found in various different soil samples, decomposing material etcetra. Second phase; Collecting and planting all sort of plants that do NOT form bushes and trees. Smaller plants like wild strawberries, blue berry, moss, grass among other plants of that 'lower spectrum of growth'. Since we are dealing with limited amount of space. Third phase, introducing Bushes of different types. Like fern, flower bush etcetra. They still don't grow too large like trees but will give plenty of habitat for the final phase. Up till this fourth phase. One could establish understanding how bacteria compete in an isolated landmass area and how they deal with various things. Second phase, how plants compete against one another for the right to the nutrients. And third phase simply supplies "Fauna and Food" for the final phase. Fourth phase, : Release more than thousand different species of insects of various groups on the island. All from different sort of aphids, ants, ladybugs, mantis, stingless bees, flies, bumblebee etcetra. The more the better and see What happens. Since the island will be isolated by ocean water, the insects can't really flee. And one can easily establish a so called netting form above to prevent Bird species from ruining the experiment. Preferably the location would be a spot with Steady weather change like around the souther Mexico horizontal height. It would give various insects released no worries about winter etcetra. Point is, to see how the various insects compete with one another and perhaps potentially see how a predator cycle potentially forms. It can give understanding of evolution since unlike Mammals. Insects have a better chance to reproduce several generations within the span of a year if given enough food and conditions. Meaning, their genes change faster(Not necessarily better) than ours in the case of a Pandora's box. Species that need hibernation might establish a new way of defending their hibernation. Mantis might find new insects to eat. Ants might form a feeding cycle among themselves... Insects might eat the ants etcetera. I personally find this type of Large scale Pandora's Box experiment would be fascinating although a tad expensive.
Different people for different reasons… hmmm… do, let us do this over a cup a, be it, tea or coffee, it is brewed or stewed by me. You would not mind, would you?
You haven’t done a centerfold? Why? Huh? Vanessa? Why’ve I never met you in person? Why? Is it because that fuzzbox came out of the UK? Or, was it, have you watched Dogs in Space?

That pattern on your T-Shirt is very interesting :)
The Kikkoman question is actually a really serious question.
Such a pleasure to see two blindingly intelligent woman that I've watched grow into two respected RUclips Creators converse with each other.
I just subscribed yesterday, and I'm already glad I did. Enjoyed hearing her story. Keep up the great work!
Great interview, Sally! Vanessa is one of my favorite RUclipsrs. It was great to hear her "behind the scenes" stories.
Loving these interviews! Also, yay, BrainCraft!

This video series would be great as a podcast ;)

to me this essentially already _is_ a podcast which simply happens to also have a video feed.

enjoying the video and your psychedelic raver shirt :)
Dat Moiré effect
35:33 - That was actually the most creative pronunciation of "kurzgesagt" I heard so far. :-)
Love your video description, shortcuts.
Sally: um, you and Vanessa willfully do this again for much more minutes? Why? I don’t know. I’m not in a rut. I am not Dr. Seuss.
I'll say hey to David for you Vanessa ;)
Sally, your camera loves that shirt of yours. Pretty moire patterns are pretty.
Well, fishbone does sing a song about girls without alibis.

Can you explain why video encoding creating that pattern on your shirt? Also very cool video I really enjoy your channel and braincraft.

Hi. Vanessa, do you have a hotline?
I know this isn't related to science, but I stumbled across your channel from Rooster Teeth's podcast and you spoke about Brexit days prior to the vote? Could you make a video with your thoughts on the matter now that Britain has indeed left the EU?
Thanks Sally! :)
I wonder what you shirt said to the camera that made it hate it so much. Anyway, good video!
Her shirt is so trippy
More videos please! :-)
How cute, the oldest university in Sydney is not even 170 years old.

SIR David Attenborough, national treasure
btw, Vanessa. So, why was Covid-19 a good happening for me but horrible for you?
This lady seems very grounded.

It's about Sally's shirt, which has narrow stripes, and that causes moiré.
Do you have a middle name, Vanessa?
Mine is, Maraviglia.
"Mr Smithers?" Come on Vanessa, it's Mr Burns you're thinking of.
Different people for different reasons… hmmm… do, let us do this over a cup a, be it, tea or coffee, it is brewed or stewed by me. You would not mind, would you?
