Have one of Nigel cbg still going strong, and I still busk with my build #1 ,I’m only 5 minutes from Nigels, shout out to Mark from MRWS for his awesome cbg gear etc 👍👍👍
Sounds great, looks great 👍. I noticed it's built bottom side of the box up. Very interested 🤔. Is that so you can use the lid to get inside easier? If not that could be interesting 🤔👍
I can't believe I quizzed you on this ten mins ago lol. Another video where I loved the sound was of course the juju pickup, it's special . There was someone else using it and I loved it, i can't remember who. All I've been listening for is what sound I like and this is it. I know you like the other one as well but and that's great but me, well, I'm in love with thee juju 👍
Hi, is there a chance for getting a wiring diagram? Thank you so much in advance if this would be possible! If it‘s not possible via this chanel maybe by email?
I believe that's true, and yes it is sad. I've got them on two of mine and I can tell you this one is no fluke. Unfortunately the cheap, nasty pickups seem to be popular, perhaps they squeezed him out, not sure. Craftsmanship has certainly improved over the years, you see some amazing looking instruments, but with a $1.99 pickup from China in it it'll always sound like a piece of junk. Makes no sense to me.
By making it work do you mean trying to play it or build it so that it's playable? If you mean play it then the best way is to get some proper training such as that offered at my site www.learncigarboxguitar.com. The odd video on youtube can help but if you're struggling you probably need a structured course to slowly and methodically build your skills. If you mean build it then I'm afraid I can't help you.
That's why I've said it's the Rolls Royce of 3 string fretless guitars. Quality components and built like a tank. It's not designed to play chords with.
Rolls royce ? Think your way over selling it ! its OKAY, sounds pretty good but far from a rolls Royce. call it what it is a decent amatuer built simple instrument. it is simply a box with a board attached and a hinge for a tailpiece and a key for a bridge saddle. As a professional luthier i am pretty sure given a little time i could train a monkey to build something equally as good.

first cigar box guitar i've seen with two pickups fitted. looks great, great playing too.
+James Webster Music Cheers James, they are both very different too which is cool, the different tones really help me through a longer set.
That is one seriously cool guitar 👍👍
Great playing 👏👏👏

BRILLIANT !
I LIKE THE KEY BRIDGE!
Cheers Amelia, It's a cool thing, in the perfect spot to rest my hand when muting too.
Sounds really nice!
Amelia Moore I second the love of the key bridge, ill need to try it some time, also wanna build a double pickup one too now 😄
You should try a set of p-bass pickups on a 3 string.. They sound very similar to a good p-90 .

+Joseph Crowell Hi Joseph, they're called Mortal Coil pickups. Here's the link www.mrwsinstruments.com/mortal-coil/
+LearnCigarBoxGuitar Thanks for a fast reply, I'll check them out. All the best.
👍, what would be the cost ,and do they ship to USA, the guitar pickups,?
Hi Richard. The links in the description will take you to the folks that can supply the guitars and/or pickups. They can help you with cost too.
The juju I want but apparently can get now as he's stopped making them. If that's right, sad!

Rolls-Royce? That's only personal opinion my preference is guitars with threats.. You can make better even cords 😎🎼👍
