Thanks for clarifying this mate. I was a bit confused because I thought epidemic sound some time ago had a policy where you couldn't use those soundtracks even if you published the video during the subscription time, so you would have to remove them from your video after you stopped subscribing, i guess things changed.
Not sure if I've ever subscribed during that kind of period of weird conditions. Thankfully both services allow to keep all videos uploaded during sub service :)
@@JakeOski I was wondering, what if one day those sites change their policies so that all published videos using licenses you got during your subscription will have their licenses cancelled if you cancel your subscription ? Legally speaking, can they do that, or those new rules would only apply to the new subscribers and not the old ones?
@ they’d have to notify all parties of the upcoming changes and these changes could only affect videos posting after these have came to an effect. So I wouldn’t worry about that.
and the old videos that I published and which have monetization, will they be monetized if I turn off the subscription? Or can old published videos also not be monetized?
Everything you've uploaded during an active subscription will stay monetized even when you cancel that subscription later - it's the same for both Epidemic Sound and Artlist licenses.
Quick question mate, if you've got the time. Let's say I use the music from Epidemic Sound and upload it while my subscription is active. Does that mean I'll get a copyright claim once my subscription ends? And that I will always need to be a paying customer in order to keep my past music uploads copyright free? Sorry if its a silly question but I need to know the details before I buy the subscription.
If you publish piece of content when your subscription is still active, that posted piece of content will stay covered and can be monetised forever. I've recently found that Artlist's offering of music got better too, nicer quality tracks especially for client / promo work. The addition of AI voiceovers comes in handy more often than I thought I'd use it. I'd probs go with Artlist now to be fair. And ask away if you have any questions dude, it's important to get the license right for your needs!
@@JakeOski thanks for the response! One more question: I went ahead and signed up at Epidemic Sound because it was cheaper and the library larger. I subscribed and got a 7 day trial. They didn't deduct anything from my card so I'm assuming they'll deduct it after 7 days are over. I went ahead and downloaded some tracks. Will these tracks count in the subscription after I'm able to post once the trial ends and the billing cycle begans? Or I should stop editing them into my video and wait for the paid subscription to start and redownload? Sorry, this got a bit lengthy
@@JakeOski so it doesn't matter if it's downloaded before? I can't add my account to the safelist until the subscription starts and I've already edited a big chunk of music into the video..
Great video brother! I have a serious question which i havent found answered anywhere I know if i buy the subscription for lets say a year and use it in my projects, that If I cancel later, I can still monetize those old videos but if someone else files a copyright claim against me after my subscription has ended on my older perfectly legal videos, then what do i do considering i dont have the subscription anymore
Good question mate! If you’ve published your video during active subscription period, then you’ve stopped paying and after a while someone submits copyright claim - you’re still covered. You can still log in and counter that or even get in touch with the helpdesk and they’ll sort it for you. Hope this helps!
Thanks. Just to clarify (because I am slow...😂) During my subscription period, I can use the same song in two separated videos on the SAME channel. If I cancel later, I can still monetize those old videos. Correct? (Thanks, Subbed)
Yeah loads of creators use the same background track for their talking heads videos. If you cancel your subscription all videos published during active subscription period will remain covered and monetised :)
@@JakeOski THANKS 😊 🙏🏽 You are appreciated. Hope you have a great day. Going to delve into your other vids soon. You are a great content creator. 👏 Good editing. All the best to ya!
Hello hopefully you see this comment. I have a subscription with epidemic sound. I used it for my last video and it says copyright under the video after I post it. Does this mean it will be taken down. I used a lot of different songs in epidemic. I was wondering if I m on suppose to use one to prevent this from happening. Thank you
Hey! Have you added your channel to Safe list? (Account -> Safelist). If it's there and the video got flagged drop support a message and they'll clear it manually. Had that a few times and they've been on point in getting it sorted quickly! Let me know if it worked!
What happens if you want to collab on an Instagram reel with someone, and you have an Epicdemic license but the other person you're collabing with doesn't?
Great question, I guess that's one for the Support to answer... My assumption is, and I've done it on one piece of footage on IG, that as long it's you posting it and adding another person as a collab you should be fine. We can always try to do a sample collab together on one of the accounts that aren't linked to my Epidemic or the other way around.
@@JakeOski would be epic if you can, but no stress! I tried reaching out to Epidemic Sound customer service but their answers have been very useless and even though they don't know what an Instagram collab post is, they keep giving me vague answers about "tags" and stuff :(
Nice video thanks 👍 4:09 : What about audiio's lifetime plan? If I understand correctly you'd get thousands of tracks for life as if you bought the rights to each single track. That would be like 400$ for thousands of tracks and not thousands of dollars per track. Unless I misunderstood how audiio's lifetime plan works. Obviously audiio doesn't have as much content as Artlist or Epidemic though, both in terms of quantity and quality (I guess?)
