  • Superstar Charles Bronson headlines this super-cool crime series as a NYC freelance photographer assisting law enforcement and insurance agencies, but gets himself into plenty of trouble solving the crimes himself !
THE BIG SQUEEZE: After a mobster, an old schoolmate of Mike's, is gunned down in front of Anton's shop, Mike finds out about a secret meeting of the heads of various organized-crime outfits and sets out to get some photos of it.

Bronson is Bronson is Bronson.....and that's a very good thing. Wish he was still around.

Great show, especially for photo buffs. Kovak/Kodak, very clever. Mike Kovak is one nervy guy, and a pretty good fighter.

Never knew about this series until yesterday. We never had cable when I was growing up. It’s great! Thanks, PF, for the introduction and enjoyable viewings!!

I was only 4 when this series came out and I missed it. Great to see it now. Thank you!
Kovac's appears to be either a yellow over white or a light blue over white 1958 Ford country sedan? California Plates 41 7675? This episode was the last one for the first season, filmed in January 1959. Eyes are not so good anymore. Now I am curious if he kept the car for the 1959 filmed episodes.
Maybe the only protagonist to go after bad guys in a station wagon? His belt camera is supposedly a Minox and they were the maker of the "small/spy" cameras, Classic Charles Bronson, the tough guy with a common sense human side. Now I want one of these cameras and a 58 Ford Station Wagon...sigh....the advertising still works.

+hoodoo2001 Well said ! I have watched so many of these episodes and rarely do I see any comments , especially from some one who appreciates the cool things of that era . .. Bronson led an interesting life , from a Coal Miner to a Tail Gunner during WW 2 and then . . an awesome Actor !

Oh, man, anybody who's into vintage cameras (like me) would go crazy with all the good stuff Kovac has. A Speed Graphic, Minox, Leica M3 with a nice assortment of Leica lenses, 16mm movie cams, button cams, fold-up flash attachments with flash bulbs... In this episode, he's using a Leica M3 with a Visoflex, and a hand grip that I'm not familiar with. Great stuff!
And that's not to mention the great apartment in the West Village, with a darkroom!

Yeah, as a collector myself, it seems the only thing he doesnt have is the Lipstick camera setup by Kodak. Luv this series!

Charles handles that impressive camera arrangement looking like he really knows what he is doing. I'm guessing it has to be a Nikon
