    It's like driving past that hill for decades and finally getting on it. There are a few like that down here Alan. Good to see you on this one having saved the car. Awesome views of the town, the plains below and the mountains beyond. That makes for being properly mesmerized - you know just doing nothing much in particular. In fact I noticed a bench for doing just that. Good going cows and all. Mark

    • @AlanMETALMAN
      @AlanMETALMAN  3 года назад +1

      Been going to do that one for years, just never seem to get round to it, yet it turned out real nice, cows and stuck car apart lol. The bench at the top is a prefect vantage point but very popular, it was still occupied when I went back 20 minutes later and by the same people lol. Thanks very much for watching Mark, cheers Alan

    Beautiful walk along Latrigg Alan and you captured the setting sun out west really well. Who said the GoPro doesn’t film so well in dark conditions? I’ve never walked up from Keswick, always drove up to that car park. Cheers Mike 👍🍺⛺️

      I was surprised at how full the car park was at 18.15 Mike, I though we would have it (and the seat) to ourselves. If I had been by myself, I would have walked from Keswick but though by driving up there Mrs Metalman would come to the summit - she didn't, too busy recovering after the car got stuck lol. Hope the car was fine Alan. When I took my little one up Skiddaw there was a woman who went into a ditch there. Looked a lovely hill, not done it myself yet, but looks like some nice views for little effort (compared to the bigger fells). Cows can be unpredictable but those ones seemed fine. I had a run in with some cows with calves yesterday - a tale to come but I survived... they were very skittish though and I am glad I chose to walk around them and not through them - they shouldn't have been there in the first place. Someone was killed by cows at the end of May. Take care. Alice

      Between 2000 and 2015, 74 people have been killed by cows, so I never take a chance with the bloody things, I think those were used to people walking passed but I was still on my guard. killed by cows. It's a real nice and very easy fell from there but surprisingly busy at 19.00 on an evening must have been mainly locals I guess. The car was fine but I still do not know how the hell I did that lol. Thanks for watching, cheers Alan

    Best time for a wander with less folk around up Latrigg, bit of cloud cover makes it look more dramatic and for a small fell its got some super views over Keswick. Cows are highly unpredictable,so wise to keep a wide berth away. The tracks up there have had more work done on them so are nice easy walking now and less muddy. Probs head back up there in the winter time. Oh and nice car, got to keep it clean though,but you got nee chance over this way lol. BTW the Travelodge has opened in Workington now if you are over this way again and you fancy some Cumbrian coast wanderings. ATB Mark.

      Thanks Mark, bit of a trek from Durham but when the light mornings/nights come back, worth it then. It's a funny fell, been meaning to do it for years, just never got around to it but trust me to go into a ditch full of mud with a brand new car lol! Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan
