    Did I miss anything? What do you guys do to retain clientele?

      🔥🔥🔥🔥 You dropped gems in this one. I do these exact things and have noticed a huge difference in retaining clients and tips as well. I've even taken a few of the owners clients because of my attention to detail, going above and beyond and customer service 🤣. I take a lil longer than the other barbers in the shop because I detail my cuts but my work is very different from theirs and I've been in the game for only a year and a half compared to their 20 plus. I've been following you for a minute and gained a lot from you, just keep putting out that 🔥

      @@757BadNewz_VAman it’s great to hear that. I know these tips work but many don’t care to use them and wonder why they’ve been cutting for so long and still haven’t built up a strong clientele. Keep getting it in fam. Thanks for watching and following!

    Hit the nail on the head with this one. Every client that comes in thier first time i ask them "aside from a good haircut what do you look for in a shop/service provider/experience?" And they mention alll the things in this video. Myself and the other barbers in my shop pride ourselfs on sanitation/cleanliness, building those relationships and consistency. Anyone can give a cut but there is only one me. Just like you said. Stay blessed fam .

    So I’m in Michigan again and we have hair mechanics and they told me the trick is to put in their notes details about them so when they come back in, I can read it on the paper without them knowing and that will help if you have a hard time remembering stuff like me because weed is legal here 😂

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather

    Supercuts for sure out of all places taught me how to do layers I could not get it at great clips now I am upgraded to a 1099 and I do feel like it’s your own business. I would never want my own business. I did start a sola and it was exhausting. I rather have someone else do all that.

    Yo I’m a new barber going into my second year as a barber I feel like a lot of walk ins don’t even really care or respect barbers I mean there a “walk in” for a reason they don’t care about appointments they just wanna walk in on there own time I feel like the best clients to have already have a barber they’d been going too for years it’s hard to stand out

    • @jamalthomas582
      @jamalthomas582 5 месяцев назад +1

      Same here

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather
      @Christopher_Minnieweather  5 месяцев назад

      It’s all about your perspective. I’ve met plenty of people that were just walk ins but after coming to me a few times and even still going to anyone else in the shop, they began to see there was a difference and decided to stick with me. But there are some who just prefer to walk in because they can’t make appointments based on their schedule and that completely fine. When they walk in they may prefer you but if you are busy for a haircut or two they’ll just go with someone else which is fine as well. Just know that if they could they would and given the opportunity they’d go to you always. I have clients who come to me only for big events in their lives because my prices are high and they love what I do but it’s just not in their budget so they go cheap until they have to look their best and I have no problem with that either. I let them know I there when ever they can come and we’ll kick it like they never left. Leaving that door open does wonders for you because when things change they come to you full time. Its seeds that you are planting that often grow into being a client of yours but not all plants are the same. If that makes sense 😂 hope that helps

    My issue is the next one, I know how create clients quick,create bonds with them and everything like that ,but this is my issues after few years working in the shop my last two barber shop owner got fired me, and all the clients I got they stayed in the barbershop, because barbershop rules I wasn’t permitted to take the clients phone number

    Hey Im looking for a little barber wisdom. Almost all new barbers fresh out a school are normally young but me at 55 Im thinking about going to barber school. As a multi shop owner what is your opinion on that. Im reaching out to others trying to get a feel for the culture and newby old man barber. So anything you care to share will be gratlly appreciated. But no pressure

    • @LarryBlurrd
      @LarryBlurrd 5 месяцев назад +1

      I’m in barber school right now, and I got a dude in my class that’s around the same age as you. He’s dope af to cut with, just remember that you’re here for YOU, not your classmates. Build your craft and don’t look back. I’m 30 with 2 kids and 2 weeks in barber school, and now taking walk-ins

    • @Christopher_Minnieweather
      @Christopher_Minnieweather  5 месяцев назад

      Man I can honestly say you have made one of the best decisions of your life. It’s tough to pivot and go a new direction but your consistency is what will reward you. I think being older is a benefit. Most people will assume you’ve been licensed forever 😂. I like to use what people think are weaknesses as strengths. It’s like if I were going to work at a white shop. I already have all eyes on me because I stand out. Blending in can be a bad thing when you want to standout. The new person already has eyes on them because people want to know can they cut or not. If I’m walking into a shop and I’m the oldest person there that’s me standing out. Not to mention the amount of older gentleman that prefer older barbers because of relatability as well as the assumption that you take your career seriously. You won’t come in late or leave early because it’s slow. You won’t come in smelling like weed or taking phone calls in the middle of the cut. When they come in you won’t be trying to finish up your madden tournament on the video game and the likelihood of you being vulgar or playing crazy music is really low. You have a golden opportunity to take over any shop and be seen as the OG that shows these young guys all you have learned working for other companies but now applying that professionalism for yourself. Kill it bro. You got this. Sorry for the late response by the way

      Most definitely! Sorry for missing your message. It was super help for me because it gave me an opportunity to practice my week points. Its not needed really as much as it was when I was coming up in the game with the advent of youtube barbering but it will still help. Thanks for the follow as well as updating me on your success Congrats on completion!
