MJ was great in college. Before the draft he was on the Olympic team and dominated the NBA players and MJ lead the Olympic to win all 8 games. Everyone was expecting MJ to be very good in NBA. He lived up to the hype!
@recklessbenji2639 lol his inspirations do add up. Everything you see today has been done for decades the main difference is traveling and carrying are not called like the rules say they should be and the insane amount of 3 point attempts. But yes players in the 70s and 80s had moves on moves, it was a more team oriented games with called plays and different styles of offenses.
@@recklessbenji2639 No, you're dead wrong when claiming that his inspirations "don't add up". You CLEARLY aren't familiar with past legends like Connie Hawkins, George Gervin, and the 2 guys that inspired MJ the most: Dr. J and David Thompson. Your generation has access to more footage than any generation that preceded y'all. Yet, y'all continue to make claims that are so stooped in ignorance, that at times, it's embarrassing. Why is it so hard for you Gen Z guys to acknowledge that things that you attribute to current players, were being done LONG BEFORE them (or your generation/era) and were even thought of? It's like it's inconceivable to y'all that great players not only existed before y'all, but were also performing great moves on the court at that time as well...SMH
The only era with plumbers is this era…matter of fact this era has even worst than plumbers, they have tiktokers and podcasters acting like they ballers smh

Bro there were athletes doing stuff out there.. the game just evolved.. he was the first and in some cases the last still to do some of what you see going forward
@@recklessbenji2639 Bobby Knight, legendary coach, may have had something to do with that excitement over Jordan. He said in1984 that Jordan is the best basketball player he's ever seen. And Knight seen many players coming through college and the pros. Jordan was not even in the pros yet and only 21 and Knight was already saying this! So you are right.
You should definitely watch Michael Jordan's historic bulls mixtape.. it starts from his beginning and until he gets his 1st 3peat retires for almost 2 years and comes back for 3 more

Yeah but mane it’s still crazy because he brought something new to the game can you agree with me on that?
MJ 🐐
The NBA started in 1946, way before MJ. Do you think he was not inspired by NBA players as a child before his time? Come on now.
Kyrie wasn't even born 😂😂😂
He was the second pick in the draft overall. You never heard of teams getting excited about their first-round draft picks? It happens all the time.
Jordan was actually the third pick, after Hakeem (then known as Akeem) Olajuwon and Sam Bowie.
@@sportjames23You are correct. 👍 I forgot about Bowie.
True they definitely saw something very special in him tho for sure like instantly
