Thank you for all these suggestions! I grew up in the 70s as well and Little House was my favorite show.

These choices were fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I also have a little channel mainly about homeschooling and so fun to follow along with likeminded homeschool moms.

Great suggestions! I grew up in the 90s but watched all those old shows - Little House on the Praire, the Waltons, I Love Lucy, and all those other good ones!

This was a good list of a few reviews. We have most of those as well. All titles you mentioned are fabulous!

Yay! I love to hear this. Any others you would add to the list...without making it a mile long. ;) That is the problem with homeschoolers: we have a hard time limiting a book list. Ha!

Yes I guessed. Narnia should be read in published date FIRST then a second time through it is ok to read it chronologically , but first it should be read chronologically! We have read it through twice with my oldest and she is only 8. And she loves it!

I love this input! And so fun to hear reasons for the order to read it. Love that your daughter is loving it!

YES! I watched Little house on the Prairie when I was young too! I loved it! Especially when Laura or Mary put Nellie in her place. Lol!!

Yesssss!!!! I was home from running around the neighborhood at 5pm every weekday just to watch. And that Nellie...I would have been more like Laura than Mary when it came to her. ;)

C.S. Lewis! I like reading it publisher order. The magician’s nephew isn’t quite as engaging and exciting as The Lion the witch and the wardrobe. If you love the series, you will enjoy the magician’s nephew. If you’re not already hooked on the series, it’s not as attention grabbing.

Very good point. We were committed to reading the entire series, so it wasn't a big deal for us. But yes, I totally agree with you. Thanks for the input!

Remember Lassie when we were young? I thought of that when you mentioned Shilo.

I do remember Lassie! I think I bawled when she, well, I won't spoil it for anyone else.

Interesting fact, recent copies of CS Lewis LWW series renumber the books so that Magician’s Nephew is the first book numerically. I actually read most of the books out of order as a student until I was older (high school) and read the complete series. I really enjoyed Magician, but maybe because I understood who the witch would become and was intrigued to see her origins. The Final Battle gave me chills.

Wow! I hadn't realized that! What a fun fact. And I love that you read them out of order and then in order. How fun!

I read the Lion, witch and the wardrobe first and then read the Magician's nephew. I would have perfered to read Magician's nephew first because it explains where the lamp post came from.

The best show ever, right? Well, maybe that and "Wonder Woman" with Lynda Carter. ;)

I didn’t like the Little House on the Prarie show because I had read and adored the books and I felt like it wasn’t even close to the story that I cherished.
