Please write Monica differently and don't make Kacey leave her for a new chick. Loyalty is the best storyline of all. Love isn't a feeling, it's a consistent choice over a lifetime even after other options present themselves. We look to film to escape reality and see redemptive storylines. If we want to see another failed relationship, we can just look at our own reality. We want to see the ideal. We want to see what we don't think is even possible happen. We want to see a relationship not break even if it isn't actually reality.

I also thought it was weird Monica got mad at Kayce for bringing her to the ranch after the attack when it was her that said she thinks they should go live on the ranch. I'm not a fan of the love triangle angle. Kayce is loyal, and he loves Monica deeply. That being said, it was pretty dang hilarious when he says "she's not my type" and Monica lists all the ways they look the same.
He never gave her even half a look when she was at the ranch. What's more messed up is the explanation for her being gone was only after the fact, and they put the useless barrel racer girls in there (well Laramie's a waste of screen time). Avery seemed like she could have a deeper storyline but of course the writer was too blind to see that.
I'm so glad the writers didn't go the route of Kacey going with Avery but showing a typical family life. Husband and wife may not always agree but if they love each other, they'll work at their relationship
Funny thing with this show is that it feels out of sequence, the time to have this temptation was while Monica and Kayce were separated and she was with her PT all the time. All we get is a simple rejection resolving the conflict. Or the vision of Avery during the vision quest. They also missed a golden opportunity for Monica to say, "You're mine. Never forget that." Ladies, tell your monogamous partner this more often. Remind them you belong to each other. One of my biggest regrets. Never staking a claim.

The best moments of fire we get to see are her snapping at the students or the Reservation Women Killer scenes. There’s potential for her character but there’s something missing. I’m intrigued to see how his part is supposed to play out with this other young lady.

It's easy to see why Kayce is attractive. But these scenes appear to me from the ego dream state of a man, not the perspective of a reasonably secure/educated wife. What surprised me is how quickly Monica let go of all her dignity and grace. She went from most dignified to base and insecure in a flash. Seems completely out of character and beneath her intellect. Also, shocked that she did not have a consequence after her head was repeatedly bashed into the kitchen floor. Avery wants the fantasy, dreamy, wealthy cowboy from a powerful family to save her. Monica gave up her power so quickly just did not make sense to me.
I don't like Monica much after season 2, but Kayce still shouldn't leave her. Its not really his character to leave his wife and family for another woman. I am curious to see what the shows gonna do with Avery. Seems weird to have her into Kayce if its doesn't have some sort of big impact on the plot.

I love that Kayce has a family to keep him grounded and I love how he’ll do anything for them but I’ve always felt Monica never truly appreciated Kayce because of being so focused on John Dutton. Going darker, perhaps for the sake of protecting her family or actively starting shit with one of Duttons because she hates how the family operates. What surprised me is how quickly Monica let go of all her dignity and grace. She went from most dignified to base and insecure in a flash. Seems completely out of character and beneath her intellect. Also, shocked that she did not have a consequence after her head was repeatedly bashed into the kitchen floor. Avery wants the fantasy, dreamy, wealthy cowboy from a powerful family to save her. Monica gave up her power so quickly just did not make sense to me.

I don't like Monica much after season 2, but Kayce still shouldn't leave her. Its not really his character to leave his wife and family for another woman. I am curious to see what the shows gonna do with Avery. Seems weird to have her into Kayce if its doesn't have some sort of big impact on the plot.

First of all Avery is a goddess who never should’ve left. Now that we got that out the way, I am very interested in this Love Triangle between these 3 characters and I find it interesting that Kayce could possibly have seen the end of he and Monica’s relationship in the vision he had from doing that vision quest ceremony at the urging of Monica. I love that Kayce has a family to keep him grounded and I love how he’ll do anything for them but I’ve always felt Monica never truly appreciated Kayce because of being so focused on John Dutton. Anyway, welcome back Avery. We missed ya. #TeamPoutyLips 😜👍🏾

I agree. Monica never seems to be happy regardless of what Kayce does to please/appease her. I don't think she truly appreciates Kayce. I could see Kayce and Avery as a dynamic team, and Avery would always have his back!! A real relationship. I've always liked Avery and I'm glad they brought her back. It's going to be interesting!!🤔😀

Monica has done nothing but complain since they introduced us to her and in my mind Kayce has never done anything to make her doubt his love for her. The only time she ever seemed to be a little happy was when they camped out on their land…other than that it’s been whine, whine and more whine. I admire Kayce for his patience…but then again love is patience.

I just finished 1883. They basically did it there. The whole show would have been fantastic. But the whole thing revolves around a little blonde white girl. Whose breaking all the stereotypes. And seems to be excellent at all male things. And in the end she still dies because she's too weak. You could have literally cut out her entire part all her narration everything. And it would have been a better show.

He is making several other series that are focused mainly on woman ninja warrior or a black guy mayor of a cowboy town. Sheridan will become a victim of his own success. He has lost his vision of gritty desperate people which is what made Sicario and Hell or High Water so great. Wind River was okay, would have been better without the lazy white bogeyman villain in the end though

Yeah but that's the thing. I agree that she's the only one with a true moral compass, and I hate that everyone else hates her. She can be kinda whiny but I wish they did more with her. To me it would be interesting to see her going from where she is as the goody two shoes to developing into a more well rounded character with darkness that matches the rest of the show. Going darker, perhaps for the sake of protecting her family or actively starting shit with one of Duttons because she hates how the family operates. Anything would be more interesting than where we are now

The only reason I don't like her character is because of the fact that she cheated on Kacey. I know they were seperated, but seperated doesn't mean they were divorced.
Also, even if they were seperated she hasn't come clean with him. She just told him that she tried to get some closure. That isn't much of a confession to me.
Also also, no matter how cruel or bad Kacey's family is. They are still his family.

Monica is Kayce’s true love without a doubt. One of Kayce’s best qualities is his loyalty and good heart. Don’t turn him into a cheater, especially for that no class homewrecker that clearly doesn’t value family.

I have not yet finished this series. I'm only on season 2 but Casey looks alot like my man and acts the same way. He is loyal and so am I. I would not like to see the script written to this .. I don't know what happens yet but I know when we have children I would rather Monica and Casey as role models not Casey and Avery
I hope he does explore what his feelings could be for Avery he doesn’t have to act in those feelings but it would help him come to terms with aspects in their relationship he looks over that he shouldn’t for example I don’t like how Monica treats/judges the duttons when she is one and that’s who kaycee is down to his core weather she wants it to be true or not and she’s created so many problems in their relationship because of that which lead to her cheating so I think his relationship with Avery will help her see how selfish she has been in their marriage
