I can understand if the parasite just pops out and the animal dies, because how the hell does the Gorilla fix itself from being 80% mouth on the verge of being sliced in half, the Giraffe being split open with it's ribs hanging out as spider legs, and the Zebra with it's lifeless head and neck and with an ass mouth suggesting that it's insides are now backwards.

One big thing I would do is make the player go through one or two days without any obvious sign of anything being wrong. Establish a facade of normalcy before ripping it away.

So the team for whatever reason decided to stray away from his finished vision and do their own thing. Rushing out the game far too early and selling as a finished project instead of putting it in early access and explaining hardships or funding issues if that was the drawback. :/

Everyone is baffled and amazed by the animations, the designs, the morbidity while I’m here like, “damn, they put the moose’s whole twig and berries in this game!” 😂
They did. Honestly, it makes it scarier to me. That sounds silly, and it is. But mostly there's just something... grounding about seeing actual, like, bits on screen. Like, "No... nothing about this is sanitized. We're going to show all of this to you as it IS."
They also show a nude human woman. I believe multiple youtubers have said they've had to censor it/toggle the setting on for it too. No surprise it put the moose bits there too.

Personally, I like the zebra’s design because it’s transformation is arguably the most unsettling and horrific- its skull is in its anus, and its lower intestines are being dragged around by what used to be its head. Genuinely terrifying, and no doubt extremely painful. Brilliant.
I just thought of this, fr the Giraffe's animation kinda looks like what you (or just me) would expect from a sort of hybrid between a snake and spider or scorpion. The neck moving in a sort of slithering motion and the "legs" moving quite like how arachnids' do.

personally i like that none of them are predators i feel like it initially makes the job seem more appealing to the character (paul) because the animals are generally pretty safe to work with as opposed to working with predatory ones leading into that false sense of security even more so i think it makes the transformations of the mutated animals a lot more horrifying and appalling like this once otherwise harmless animal has completely transformed into this disgusting grotesque mangled nightmarish almost unrecognizable version of itself that is actively trying to kill everything and anything in its sight including yourself thus making it a predator and one that is far times more lethal and horrifying than any natural one you could find in a zoo so maybe they did it on purpose idk

sad that the publisher refused to give it the development time it needed to make it into an incredible horror game. This could've easily been one of the best horror titles of the decade but the studio decided that it had to be released right then, instead of letting it reach it's full fruition.

the Gorilla, Giraffe and Zebra is probably the most twisted one IMO, with the Wallaby and Hippo coming in second the gorilla has its back almost turn in half the giraffe has its belly rip apart and have extra "bone" as spider leg with the extra-large-size mouth the zebra is probably the most impressive one with the inside getting reversed compare to that, Wallaby and Hippo are both less "mutated" (probably only Hippo, since Wallaby got a extra big mouth on the belly, and Hippo just got the mouth twisted) for the rest of them, I feel they resemble "zombie" than "mutated"
these are animations from a game that released recently, he probably just took them from the game files. unfortunately the game itself was a little lacking, but i think one of the developers died during production which probably affected the game a lot

To give credit where it's due, these monster designs are fantastic. Each of their movements complement their different designs, and none of the designs seem too "overcrowded", y'know? The designs are so cool, I wish we could have seen the transformations into the mutated forms and after being cured. What would have been super cool is cured creatures that still had some mutations.
You must admit, these designs are absolutely amazing. Game Development is hard, and sometimes things don't turn out the way we expect, but we can sit back and at least try to enjoy what we have now.
It's a bummer that there's no real consistency between the mutations. Some get extra legs, one's butt becomes its mouth, one's entire torso splits and becomes a big mouth, another gains an extra mouth in its stomach, one grows spider limbs, another gets spines out its back, the penguin gets bat wings(?), the hippo gets a finger face and bulbous tumors...
If I had to rank these on a tier list based on how good the designs are, I'd probably put it like this: Gorilla: S Tier hands down. Genuinely, thats terrifying lol, and the environment you fight it in only helps make it scarier. Penguin: C Tier. I can kinda see what they were going with, and while its decently scary in game, it feels underdeveloped with its design. Wallaby: B Tier. Much better than the penguin. It could use a bit more detail but I like the pouch instead being another mouth. Hippo: F tier. It feels like they just gave up after making the head and just added spots and called it a day. Plus the feet dont make sense for an animal like a hippo and it makes it look like a rat. Moose: B Tier. It has potential. Not sure what else to say. I like the gaping mouth. Zebra: A tier. The thought of a parasite controlling you backwards and using your back as your head is messed up lmao. Also it drags its own stomach out of its original head. Elephant: C Tier. Slightly more terrifying than the hippo but again it feels like they just gave up after the head. Giraffe: S tier hands down. The way it moves, the way its mouth is opened, it all feels uncanny and genuinely freaking lol.
It’s skull was forced and mutated that way. Pretty much its body is flipping over and forming inside out, completely putting everything backwards. Horrific if you ask me.
Whoever idea it is, I just can't imagine someday, out of nowhere you have a dream like "hey, how about a mutated zoo animal? A giraffe with 6 feet and walking like a spider", man I'll absolutely going to a therapy session later on

It kinda sucks that there aren't any predators in the game (lions, bears, etc)

I think the lead dude intended for the game to have "The Thing" vibes and have it detective style. But then the game got rushed with a somewhat poor gameplay loop, glitches and everything

You must admit, these designs are absolutely amazing. Game Development is hard, and sometimes things don't turn out the way we expect, but we can sit back and at least try to enjoy what we have now.

It's a bummer that there's no real consistency between the mutations. Some get extra legs, one's butt becomes its mouth, one's entire torso splits and becomes a big mouth, another gains an extra mouth in its stomach, one grows spider limbs, another gets spines out its back, the penguin gets bat wings(?), the hippo gets a finger face and bulbous tumors...
I think it’s just so that the mutated version of each animal would be unique, rather than have the same look for all of them.

If I had to rank these on a tier list based on how good the designs are, I'd probably put it like this:
Gorilla: S Tier hands down. Genuinely, thats terrifying lol, and the environment you fight it in only helps make it scarier.
Penguin: C Tier. I can kinda see what they were going with, and while its decently scary in game, it feels underdeveloped with its design.
Wallaby: B Tier.
Much better than the penguin. It could use a bit more detail but I like the pouch instead being another mouth.
Hippo: F tier. It feels like they just gave up after making the head and just added spots and called it a day. Plus the feet dont make sense for an animal like a hippo and it makes it look like a rat.
Moose: B Tier. It has potential. Not sure what else to say. I like the gaping mouth.
Zebra: A tier. The thought of a parasite controlling you backwards and using your back as your head is messed up lmao. Also it drags its own stomach out of its original head.
Elephant: C Tier. Slightly more terrifying than the hippo but again it feels like they just gave up after the head.
Giraffe: S tier hands down. The way it moves, the way its mouth is opened, it all feels uncanny and genuinely freaking lol.
I love the Penguin. Its not scary, I just like that its like a silly goth demon penguin
9/10 models. 3/10 gameplay. 10/10 potential. 1/10 implementation. overall game 4/10
