Honestly i think crow is probably the best at build guides when it comes to actually giving a simple explanation that tells you exactly how its done. To many builders try to but no matter what theres always one key thing thats not detailed enough. Never had that issue with crow.

Before any expansions in the tutorial (exemple : compound, open core…) you should put how much materials this section is going to require so that we can farm the right amount of ressources before expanding. Great base btw!
After watching this again I realize this ur recent egg build brought into it's ultimate form. Kinda shows how if you take some time u can take a simple build and max it out
I build the whole night. Now i can finally go to sleep to get oflined. It is a giant good base deffinitly not made for a duo but i enjoy it overall. The bunkers are insane and also the pixel gaps. You have a view over the whole base, compount and outside from the shooting floor and roof. Will maybe build again nice video *Thumbsup*
You can make some nice bunkers on the roofs aswell if you run out of space, this is only possible if you avoid building all the bedroom stuff he builds on the roofs, and only build the jump ups where the vending machine windows go. If you want extra storage space you can also remove the ramps in the loot rooms in the open core, to make space for way more barrels there aswell. From my testing the ramps don't add any extra protection when going up, and if you were to blow down you wouldn't want to blow trough one of the loot rooms regardless, you would go towards the middle of the open core to do that. I did play with this base last force, and it was incredible, it tanked a 200 rocket online raid pretty easily, and we would've easily won the raid if we had tried to seal the base. We practically had to lose on purpose for us to lose the raid, which we chose to do because we were tired of playing after 16 days.
Love the base so far in the build. Fyi There is a square foundation just off the core, the one kind of forward/under the twig triangle roof piece used to temporarily connect the foundations to the base, that isn’t connected and will decay even with the angled roof piece there. Not a huge deal but wanted to provide the feedback for folks that take a little time to finish those last 3 externals.

Played this wipe with this base. Raiders were able to get a TC placed on the main after taking over one of the externals. Then, they were able to open all the bunkers without having to get the other externals. They were also able to destroy TC without breaking the vending machine.
That's how Rust works mate, not the fault of the base. They still needed to raid to TC, external and open core so it's not like it was a free raid.
Me and my duo built this base on Official EU Monthly server and we LOVE IT. Yes this might not be the DUO base people are looking for. But I have NEVER lived inside a better base. The open-core looks so frekkin good. My friends getting tired of me braggin about how good the base is hahaha

About that vending machine-door bunker... I saw it in your previous builds and seems you trying to put it everywhere now. Firstly i had the same emotions, i was surprised. +1 metal wall to your TC with almost no space needed, sounds like a genius build trick, but then, one wipe i realized people can rotate your Vendings without being in your TC. It means they can just put a satchel or C4 on it, rotate and destroy your TC, and of course since we cant lock lootbags, loot it fully after it. ANd yes, it works even through closed single door I'm surprised no one said it through this past few vids, i guess ill be first. So: they dont work, now i prefer to do simple unlootable tc(when you put tc in a triangle, than close it with a window-wall- and connect a floor to it), but guys (thats not for crow anymore, its more for you), dont forget to upgrade it to HQM. Softsiding metal on vanillas is a regular thing
@@CrowRust Yeah, I don't really understand what he's trying to say here. I always thought you needed TC priv to be able to rotate a vending machine. The one thing bad about bunkers that are easily accessible is that if they get main TC and break the correct external, (which is easy to figure out if you know how) then they can open the bunkers without needing to get the other two externals. There are work arounds for this, and even different ways to build externals to make this much harder to do. Over all I think this is a nice base, no base is ever going to be PERECT or UNRAIDABLE, but this is a great base, especially if you're online to defend.
The total build cost counts the base upgrade progression right (stone>metal>hqm) ? So you can build it cheaper if you directly build it with the final upgrade, am i correct?
Ik it’s a lot to ask but is it possible for u to make a trio base with bunkers and open core with shell and honeycomb and a bunkered tc while being like 15k stone and 10k metal ish with up to 200-300 hqm?
@crow sorry to bug you about this this point but i noticed it as im very close to finishing the build. What is woth the extra turrets in the open core that are behind the ramps. But in the tutorial it seems like u place different turrets on frames in the open core that i didnt see in the tour in the beginning. That being said of they were both ment to be used in the case of modded servers ill Use em both. Thanks!

Guys, after the May update in Rust we will not be able to do pixel gaps and offset bunkers, does anyone know if the roof bunker will work? Or does an offset bunker fall under the category of roof bunkers?
I messed up with the floor stack part it decayed over night but I already built the triangle foundation connected with wall frames and now I can’t put down the two triangles and square for the floor stack
The 2nd set of externals for me won’t just open up I had to extend out a few more squares on console. It won’t work with the bunkers aswell unless it’s glitched… idk

It will happen. Making the video is painful though so bare with me. Although mountain roofs are a bit expensive and not that useful if you have a shooting floor.
Ive got a small issue Crow, At 20:10 I am not able to disconnect the external from the build with your method. I am on console so maybe thats the problem but Ive followed your steps exactly and when i place the roof, the frame doesn’t break. Is that an issue with console? or the build?
warning, make sure you place the floors above the open core loot rooms correctly, attached to the frame. if you don't, you can't place the ramps above and have fun jackhammering :)
@@CrowRust well it happened to me today :( idk how but I couldn't place the ramps and noticed a gap between the floor and the stone frame and I had to jackhammer and replace the floor properly and all works now
33k stone / 31k metal and 184 hqm seems a lot no ? I play solo but this upkeep seems high as hell. Other than that the base seems really strong with 3 wall to at least see the open core
No it's not. From my experience, a dedicated solo can afford max 10k upkeep a day. So multiply that by how many players and you'll see this base is rather affordable for the team size. Bigger teams can also control monuments, quarries, excavator.

Just came here to comment after a 3AM raid defense on a monthly server. We had 3 online, we got raided by 4. They used 50 rockets, and LEFT. AMAZING TURRET PLACEMENTS MAN!!! They literally gave up and left!! Didn’t even get past the wooden compound. Zero loot. Broke open one bunker from random rockets. DO A REMAKE!!

If you want extra storage space you can also remove the ramps in the loot rooms in the open core, to make space for way more barrels there aswell. It won't decay if you build the shell, which should be top priority.

That's not true mate. You need building privilege to rotate it. Also, the unlootable "trick" is bad since you can't replace the TC.

Floor stacking is a bit of a pain in the ass, much better to wall stack which allows for cheaper upkeep and hidden bunkers.
