I visited Japan earlier this year and it's kinda freaky how realistic the subway in this game looks. Much of the actual subways have more wear on the tiles so they aren't quite as shiny, but newly built or renovated sections look exactly like this.
i agree, it also reminded me of subways in singapore, with all those normal looking posters and tiles and doors, and the yellow line. definitely gives you liminal space vibes for those who've been to places like that.

Out of those I've seen, "hyper-realistic" horror games are usually set in fictional abandoned houses or hospitals. This one matches a real public space that I've seen in person pretty much perfectly. I know this video is a month old BUT a little tip for anyone who wants to play it. If you see, that you were wrong, you can go back to the room and look for the anomaly, so you can learn what can be an anomaly. Don't speedrun the game if it is your first time playing and you don't know all the anomalies. I watched a video about the anomalies, so I know what I would have to look out for. There are mostly not really small changes but big ones, that can still be missed, if you're not taking your time to look around.
Its genuinely nice to not always be looking through cameras to observe. Hopefully the same dev or another dev will expand upon this concept as I would love to see more.
Wht I liked most about the game is that is very player friendly designed once they get past the initial confusion. Getting all the anomalies cound be very annoying but the game seems to prioritize new ones. Also the anomalies you missed show up again relatively quickly. That might have been coincidence but it seemed like the game wants to give you a second chance to realize what the anomalie was.
Just finished my first playthrough on my own and I got super obvious anomalies, like the tsunami wave coming at you, the man walking really fast, lights flickering, the ad sign growing bigger, and the yellow walkway line out of place. I def enjoyed it and will play again in the future to find more unique changes. I was hoping to see the weird face on the ceiling but that never showed up for me.

The reason I'm not sure is I went back a couple times and saw something I had thought I definitely checked for (they were both relatively obvious anomalies).

This would be an insane concept for purgatory if a soul ended up there. The amount of torture this would be with all the fear behind it and the dread that would come along if you messed up.
I bought the game (it's not expensive) after watching this on stream. I thought I would breeze through it. Boy, was I wrong. Some of the anomalies that Insym accidentally got right here (if you turn back on an anomaly, it won't appear again until you get all of them) were absolutely the hardest ones for me. Took me 80 minutes to get to the end even though I already knew most :D
