    Congrats on the bacon bits! That will be some good food for your family. Every time I see you, I can’t help but think of Dan Haggarty, Grizzly Adams. I’m sure you’ve never heard that one before. Hahaha. Good luck with the piggies. So many homesteaders say that is their favorite animal to raise. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇺🇸❤️🐖😁🙏🙏🙏🙏

      I thought I got a good deal too! I cold have gotten them cheaper at an auction barn but our local sales barn closed ten years back and I didn't want to drive one or two hours to some of the others around. I once knew a Major Ganon (U.S. Military) any relationship to you? Either way, thank you for the well wishes; I appreciate it. :)

    Congrats on taking the leap, we've enjoyed (mostly) having pigs so far. I'd be a little concerned with T-posts and panels when they get bigger. This is only our 2nd year with pigs so we're FAR from experts. With how much our pigs rooted along the fencing edges and the fact one bent a hog panel dang near in half during loading last year I'm concerned about them lifting/moving the fence if there's no deterrent like a hot strand.

    • @official180degrees
      @official180degrees  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the info. I'll definitely take it into consideration. Once they're bigger, I definitely think we'll move over to electric fence with little pig posts--that'll be way easier to move around out in the woods. My father says that he used to use one strand and never had a problem and he raised a lot of pigs.

    I'm glad you are thinking about the future for your family. I have pigs on my homestead. I use them for meat myself. I have a few videos with my pigs. You may have paid a little much for the pigs. The pig market is way down right now. Maybe not for feeder pigs if the small farms and homesteads are trying to get their hands on them to be self sustainable. I bought two pigs at the local sale barn for fifteen dollars each that weighed twenty two pounds each. They were purchased months back when the market was good. Thanks for sharing. Your going to enjoy. Your friend Bryan. P.S. Let them get a little bigger and put them back in the cow panel pen. That's what I use. They will be fine.

    Are you OK, you don't seem to be walking real well. What breed are they?

    • @official180degrees
      @official180degrees  4 года назад +1

      I had an issue with my ankle. It's mostly better but it was pretty bad for a couple fo months so I'm still acting as if there's a problem. It's kind of weird but your mind gets trained to expect pain and you start walking differently to compensate. After a while it just becomes how you walk. I doubt I could go run on it but walking isn't painful so it's all subconscious at this point. Thanks for your concern. :)
