I am amazed! The view from the GoPro was just ho-hum, but the images through the Sony setup were excellent. James has a great eye, and he reacts very quickly to the scene evolving in front of him. I love it.
I love how you just have the background sounds of walking through a city. It was so calming and so much better than the irritating stock music so many RUclipsrs use.
@@davidgfisher Do you expect a photography RUclips channel to continually be across all the many atrocities in the world? I mentioned it because it played a part in the scene I was photographing, I’d suggest placing your frustration towards the cause, not someone mentioning it.
There's nearly nothing I enjoy more than wandering round an interesting city with my camera with no other objective than taking photos, exploring and a decent meal! Thanks for the video.
That was a fun video. I love the point you made about everyone not taking the same photo and also mentioning that not every photo you took was a keeper. That's something that still gives me problems, expecting every shutter click to be a keeper. Thanks for the video, cheers!
Hi James, I live in Italy and spent a couple of years in Venice, so I was particularly fascinated by the way you managed to catch not just the touristy side of the city, but the everyday aspects of the people who actually live there, rather than just visit. You even passed my son's old primary school... quite a trip down memory lane!
I have been to Venice a couple of times and loved it. You have produced an excellent video here that is interesting, informative and brings back great memories. Thanks James.
Great stuff, you make street photography look effortless and easy. Something I've struggled to be comfortable with when dipping my toes in it in the past, but this looked pretty fun. Was nice to see the streets of Venice again.
Loved the laid-back, relaxed feel of this video! Being able to listen just to the ambient noise of the city was really calming and immersed me in the video and photos, would love to see more like this!
Hi, great video, is it possible to see a few before and after editing of some of these photos? Im interested in the cropping youve needed to do as much as the shadows etc. thanks,
POV photo taking is really the best way for viewers to experience the photo taking alongside you, kudos to that! Here's a few observations 1) I could tell that with a 50mm, you get the benefit of shooting people from quite the distance away without infringing in their personal space. 2) But 50mm also means the background becomes somewhat compressed, meaning instead of a whole building, you only capture a crop of it in the background. 3) Shooting with a small aperture is great. Since the background is already compressed, trying to blur it away with a large aperture just removes the much needed context and weakens the photo usually. 4) Flares can be used artistically to enhance a photo.
I really do love your POV videos. Besides learning a lot it's somehow soothing! I'm always looking forward to watch your's and Nigel's videos on the weekend. Thanks for that!
Ive never been bothered about street until recently when i plucked up the courage to do some and i really enjoyed it. It was good to see you doing some and what great shots too, i loved the little dog with the ball. Would be great if you could do a street photography editing tutorial, your edits made the images really pop. Something i struggle with sadly. Great work James 👍👍👍
I very much liked your street photos. I can't often say that to anyone often as street photography is not always my favorite. Nice job, beautiful place.
Really enjoy when you shoot street. I think the 50mm in such tight spaces forces you to be creative, instead of just going for the wide "easy" shots. Maybe the tighter focal length mimics the narrow alleys and tight spots in the city...maybe, lol. Anywho, great video and shots!
Nice to see you shooting street again James. I picked up Sony 135mm GM recently, worried about it being too long, but have found it amazing, on my other body I have the Sony 20mm G, so a wider and longer setup
Great video. Venice looks absolutely beautiful!! My favourite part honestly?......saying thankyou in an"Italian" accent to the gentleman, enjoying the sun 🤣👌👌 Fantastic!
I seriously love your photography. I think you have an amazing eye. You are definitely right in regards to every photographer is difference in shots and editing style. I absolutely adored some of the shots that you made here and I would love to see those available as prints in the future. I could have easily watched you wander and shoot for quite a while longer.
Well that was fun!! My wife is shouting from the sofa ... "that's what I miss the most about Scotland ... its proximity to Europe!" followed by ... "he's nice buy an Iceland print!" 😁
G'day from Australia! First time viewer, subbed off this video, really loved the walk around go pro format with shots peppered through vid. Great feel of how you go about your time and place of shooting. Venice is breathtaking, you got a nice clear morning to shoot, lovely stuff. Thanks for all that you do, and how you are doing it. Nice!
That's one of the things I love so much about photography, seeing everyone's perspectives. Sometimes we are all so similar and others we are all so different. Our unique perspectives with both a camera and our souls are what makes life so cool. Great video and pictures James!
wow, I really enjoyed this video, so relaxing to watch, and I love street photography, I feel need to go out and take some pictures! love how you see things
That was so enjoyable watching and hearing some of the sights from my visit to Venice a few years ago. Wandering the alleyways at night is a great. Lovely video James.
Thanks James, your best video yet I think. Loved the ease with the way you shot and so many great shots! Would like to see the cropping and post work too.
Hi James, I really enjoyed the video, a nice change of pace. I see what you mean about having a wider and narrower option, but you certainly got some interesting shots with the 50mm lens. Thanks for sharing.
Hi James: As I sit in Canada, viewing this video brings back great memories of our two trips to Venice. Venice is my favourite city in the world and I simply loved walking around and getting lost in the city. Cheers, Keith
This is one of my favorite videos. I really like street photography and you took some amazing shots. You should do more street photography videos. Thanks !
Wonderful video James. I spent a sunny January day in Venice with my Lumix a couple of years ago doing just the same thing. It's the perfect place for street photography!
Really refreshing video. I don't usually watch street photography but this was a nice change, maybe something I will try to do myself for a bit and trade in some landscapes for a walk around the city.
James I know this is going to cause controversy but I have hand held my Pentax DSLR cameras for up to 11 hours I like the way they feel in my hands and ergonomics of the cameras. Especially the camera grip in my hands. I prefer my Sigma 18-250 lens for street as it gives more flexibility to photograph the scene.
It's almost frustrating how good you are at finding great compositions/storytelling moments. I keep learning from you all the time!
This right here man 💯

Loved this James! the sounds as you walk around the streets just draws you in. Great shots as well.... Also - creative thinking for you print names ;)
Lol I thought the same with the print names 😂 But..... the images speak for themselves i suppose the name means very little.
@@davidgfisher hes not a war yt channel calm downnnnn😭
@@davidgfisher i understand but tbh the sad truth is most people are just bandwagoning on it
Thanks mate! I’m a creative soul 😂

This was a really chill video, definitely liked having the ambient sounds of the city rather than an obnoxious soundtrack over the top. Great work!
This!
Aaaah. That's what making me love this video even more. Makes sense!
2:41 wowwwww the way shes enjoying that sun . i love that photo
One of my all-time favorites. I could have watched an hour of this.
Goes to show you how much more observing and trying different perspectives are more impactful than gear and settings.
There's nearly nothing I enjoy more than wandering round an interesting city with my camera with no other objective than taking photos, exploring and a decent meal! Thanks for the video.
That is a recipe for a great day.
Cool photos! I second Nigel’s observation that when you include the audio while wandering the streets, it really draws we viewers into the experience.
The environmental sound is the perfect soundtrack to this video. Thank you for that! 🙏

Great captures. Always enjoy the dialogue!
Great video James. Love the extraordinary shots of ordinary things👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

What a wonderful way to spend a few moments on a Saturday morning. Such fond memories. Thank you.
Amazing photography. I love James's stayle!
I loved seeing all the parts of Venice that I remembered from various visits.
Thanks for that.

Always very cool to see the buildings that I've seen paintings of. Cool.
This was enjoyable. Thanks for taking us along for the walk around Venice.
Hi, great video, is it possible to see a few before and after editing of some of these photos? Im interested in the cropping youve needed to do as much as the shadows etc. thanks,
Great video James. Marvellous snippets in time and place, made all the more enjoyable by the “natural soundtrack”

The bird shots were totally amazing--those and the gondolier sitting with his legs crossed.
What a great mid-winter boost. THANK YOU.
You have captured some good photos of this lovely lady. Love the portraits.
Lovey to see you break out of your “usual” style, and got some great shots to boot.
James, your street photography is really good. You really should do more of this! Love it!
some awesome barrel distortion at times. Rather liked the effect. Terrific pictures. Loved it.
Great idea with streetphotography. I love people who don't limit themselves to just their niche. Enjoyed watching this POV.
Thank you James - the Photography RUclips channel that I love watching the most - simple as that 👏
Great to see more of your street photography, hope to see more in the future!
Every photo was amazing and I like how calm the city is with no cars. Really loved this one pov
God I love these, it's so inspirational seeing how you find your shots in places. Love it.

Wow. Thank you, your videos are always fun, interactive and so educational!
Wow James! You made that look easy. Nice images. Bravo!
Maan, what you just said in the 3:29 is so correct.
Crispy ass photos @JamesPopsys...Loving your captures. G'Day from Australia
Greatly appreciate you showing us Italy from your POV James. Love the solar photography and the sun kissed pictures you mixed in. Just Lovely
I really love your landscape photography but these Street photography shots are just brilliant!
Love the images, James. Some great compositions👍
I agree with whatever Nigel says ….. and I love the person shadow shoots!
You got a few bangers, mate 😀 And I agree with Nigel, some clever thinking, which paid off well 🙂

Nice series. Most enjoyable.
I've been in Venice twice and although a beautiful place, great to see it without all the tourists, great canvas to start with, thanks.
Brings back memories, Thanks.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, loved the photographs!!
Great video James! Such a nice street photography with beautiful colours and light!! Please do more videos like that!
Great shots James! Venice is so beautiful!

I loved my time in Venice and I have travelled a lot around Italy. It is one big open air museum !

Great pictures James, I love the one at 10:02 (of course)
I have that lens and love it for travel. My 24-70 is big and heavy, but this little lens is a gem.
so good at it, really loved the video and streetphotography it self.
I miss living near Livorno (Tirrenia). Thanks for the video, brought back some good memories.
I really enjoyed this one! You appear to be a remarkably talented street photographer.
Many great photos in this one. I admire your talent. ✌️❤️🇺🇦
Those are some beautiful street portraits
Nigel loved it!
Loved to see you walking through some familiar streets and see your prospective to compare it to mine. Fantastic!
perspective.
Truly enjoyed going on this shoot with you. Thanks so much.

I love your street photography. 👍
Hats off to you Sir! A very wonderful video.

More of this! 👍

Back to your roots with the street photography. The first video of yours I saw was you doing Street photography.....and ditching full frame!
