As someone from the University of Kyiv stated recently, the UK were the first to help Ukraine in WWII and they were the first to help fight Russia in 2022. And to paraphrase [because I can't find the original video now] Ukraine couldn't ask for a better ally and the years have proved that when you have the UK as a friend they are a friend for life - or words to that effect.
